Honey, we as BLACK people with our black network need to expand and try to reach other genres of music. I know R&B / HIP HOP / SOUL is mostly what BET stands on and thats really all they pay attention to, but having gaga on the awards would be a GREAT look. Having her on 106 and park was the first step, and I think having her perform on the awards / make an apperance would be the next. Well Chis hasn’t really went Pop…he has some Pop songs but alot of his songs have an R&B feel or it’s like R&B/Pop. If he went Pop for having songs like Yeah 3x, Beautiful People, and Forever. Then Usher has to be Pop too for having hits like OMG, DJ Got Us Falling In Love, and More. F.A.M.E. is R&B/Pop a little….the most Pop he did in an album is Graffiti.
And I don’t understand why Lday Gaga would be there. It’s not because she is white. Eminem is white and he appeals to the Hip-hop crowd. Robin Thicke is white. But Lady Gaga is Pop and BET represents Black Entertainment which may not be just R&B, Hip-Hop and Rap blacks like Pop too but you know if they started nominating Lady Gaga it wouldn’t be “Best Female R&B” anymore. Which wouldn’t be a problem but BET would have to step up and switch it up.
Also to be honest Takers itself deserved a nomination for Best Movieor whatever but why did they give him a nomination for Best Actor? The people he is along side of are on a different level.
