I watched this and also record it on my sky box. I will watch again and gain. This is the best I have seen at glastonbury. Coldplay and u2 where good but bey just took it to another level. 4 went to 2 in the uk after ten minutes of finishing the show. She is slaying and she will keep on doing so. Beyonce took to the Pyramid stage earlier tonight for her headlining spot at the Glastonbury Festival. The Dereon diva prepared a meaty setlist for the show, plowing through her back catalog, some Destiny’s Child stuff, some cuts from her new album 4closure, and a few covers that she thought might make her look credible to Glastonbury’s rock crowd, like King of Leon’s Platinum-certified #1 smash “S** On Fire” (“I’m a rocker y’all!).
But I doubt that anybody other than the Bey stans care about seeing her butchering other people’s hits or performing “Crazy In Love” and “Single Ladies” for the millionth time, so I’ve just included footage of her previously un-televised new 4 cuts “Best Thing I Never Had” and “End of Time”.
Seeing “Best Thing I Never Had” was probably more boring live than anybody really expected, showing just how dull Bey can be when she’s not whipping her weave and dancing up a storm. Luckily she made up for it in spades with “End of Time”, which just so happens to be my favorite track from 4. Homegirl was giving it her all with this performance, thrashing around and virtually burning a hole in the stage with her boots — she’s even improved her choreography, so instead of just the mindless crotch-popping (which was still present) that’s become her trademark, she actually delivered a real dance routine. Bey’s p**** pops are great in moderation, but she’s truly amazing when she puts a little more structure into her act and actually performers like a real dancer and not a stripper, so it’s good to see that she’s been working on fine-tuning her choreography.
But while I may have loved Bey’s “End of Time” performance, not everybody at Glastonbury was a fan of the pop star. Lauren Laverne and Zane Lowe hosted the BBC2 televised coverage of the festival, but they seemed to disagree when it came to how they felt about headliner Beyonce: Lauren launched into a long-winded rant about Beyonce’s performance, praising Bey along with pop music in general, leaving Zane to shuffle uncomfortably as he waited to get a word in — after concluding with “I thought it was a great set. What did you think?”, Zane responded by bursting into patronizing laughter, ignoring her question, and replying “I went and watched Queens of the Stone Age,” before quickly introducing the next act.

Beyonce was then due to stop by the studio for a post-performance interview. Zane quickly announced that he had to leave to get home and see his two kids, but rumor has it that he was booted off by some B** execs who were scared of what he might say during the interview. Apparently, his behavior stemmed from being frustrated that Beyonce was chosen over Queens of the Stone Age to close the Pyramid stage.
I would’ve killed to see that wig snatching interview go down!
