In celebration of the release of her Songs In A Minor Collectors Edition, Alicia Keys treated fans to an intimate performance last night at The Beacon Theatre, New York.
Performing some of her much loved hits, the ‘Diary’ entertainer wowed attendees with unique renditions of various songs, even paying tribute to Mary.J Blige with a performance of the song ‘Real Love’.

Getting my Songs in Minor 10 anniverary copy today. YAY! so proud of A keys. Yeah this b**** will go down in the books of great music history. First of all Sam she did not sing Superwoman, I was at the Beacon Last night and I will tell you this woman is nothing but the truth, unbelievable. 2 hours straight. No back up singers no other instruments but her piano and her voice. I thouught I was in heaven, her voice was heaveny and her interaction with the audience was so personal and sweet, she is exactly what you see, a wonderful ssweet soul. There was nothing but love and Awww! In the building last night. Alicia is here to stay, she is a force. After 10 years her songs feel like they just came out yesterday. Timeless!! Let the haters bow because they will be sick and filled with hate for years to come. Her fans are soooo diverse Young, old, black white, asia, and you could clearly see the level of class that comes with her fans, so let these black blog cyber bullies that live with self hate and misery continue their foolishness when it comes to Alicia and her personal life, you do not matter. The mainstream media and her true fans(millions) are on another level with Alicia. There were people that came from overseas for this concert, I met a few and they were so in aww!!. I look forward to seeing so much more from Ms. Keys, her talent is limitless: Songwriter, singer, music producer, movie producer, philanthropist and now Television movie producer and Broadway producer. Phenominal woman.
I’ve seen her in concert to and Alicia will surprise alot of people, she doesn’t lose your attention at all. She is very talented and she really deserves every bit of success she gets!

@Lisa, RoyalKev & Sarah, I co-sign 100% … Alicia is a true artist & she doesn’t need all the huff & fluff for people to appreciate & recognize her talent … I really hope she stays with the concept of “Piano & I” b/c that is when she is at her absolute best … people need to realize that the most popular person isn’t necessarily the best or the most talented…

I like Alicia and vocally she has improved but her range is very small. She is no Mariah or Beyonce. I always buy her albums because she is an excellent songwriter and her lryics are always good.
@jasmine girl sit!! Mariah has range with no soul. Beyonce’s range is built on runs, she does not have a high range without running. Alicia has a combination of range and soul and it is evident when she ang live on Thursday night with nothing but her voice and that piano pure unadulterated talent.
I like Alicia her performance at the BET awards was great, but people looked over her! @ Nikki what do you mean Beyonce’s range is built on runs? That makes no musical sense at all! Are you saying She can only access her higher registers when she does a run? That’s not true at all! That would mean she lacks technique and she is far from lacking vocal technique. I am not sure why we compare the artist, but there really is no need to.

If u go to other blogs, A has as much comments as B, and her audience is relatively more mature.
The show was amazing!!! For future concerts, she needs to dedicate at least 30 minutes of her shows to her singing and playing that piano with no backup singers or band.
She has some real talent. To be able to do over an hour of songs with just the piano and no breaks is amazing. Love A. Keys. Also, there’s no need to compare singers. Mariah, Beyonce and A.Keys have very different voices, but they are all amazing.
I was present for this show… she was absolutely AMAZING!!! I’ve seen her perform 11 times and this is the only time I’ve seen her do an ENTIRE show with just her vocals and her piano. I LOVED IT! She played some of her personal favs, interacted with the crowd, and didn’t mess up on a single piano key or vocal note. Thia is definitely my favorite show I’ve been to thus far!
