Enter Fantine.
Quirky, fresh, and musically eclectic, the Russian-born, Australian-based singer is looking to make an International splash with new single ‘Rubberoom’.
Yet, despite only now serving up her debut offering, Fantine is no stranger to the industry. Indeed, last year she set out on tour Down Under as guest vocalist and co-writer with Indie-Electro-Soul outfit Space Invadas, a trek which saw her take centre-stage at some the country’s largest music festivals, including Future Music, Splendour In The Grass, and support spots with Lupe Fiasco.
Now ready to break out on her own, she serves up ‘Rubberoom’ for the International market. Having already drummed up a buzz in her own abode, she looks poised to do the same here. For, the Alex Gray penned cut has many talking. Check out the single in its video form above.

I live in Australia and I can tell you that this is such a typical song that you hear over here..wierd. Actually one of the better songs though, comparing it to some other songs made by the very few Australian artists. And you don’t find many R&B artists here, if any at all.

Something’s lacking. The song is a cool tune, lyrically kind of average and the video is cool too, but it’s not great. Especially in the video it feels like everything else is quirky apart from her. And let’s not call everyone musically eclectic. Bjork is coming back and she is quirky and eclectic. This girl is just not conventional.Nothing more, nothing less

I gotta say, this track is funky
D Its so much softer to some of the stuff thats out in the charts right now, but has its own legs to stand out. Love her soulful voice!
