We care for vogue. Apparently the brand she’s building is BET Awards, 106 n park. Urban mess that don’t buy albums. During Ms. Kelly era she had 6 magazine covers and after that little era everybody forgot about her flop ass.
It will happen again this era, and she will move to Europe where she can’t even sell her albums either.

Quit that mess. I am not one of those black people that don’t have a passport to travel . I have been to europe and kelly is not huge. That is a make believe they tell you guys in America. She is just huge as an Ex destinys child member but as just kelly rowland she is not huge. Kelly’s last album did better here in the states than in did in Europe. Her motivation songs was rejected by the European market.
Let me tell u something about the European Market anybody can be big,It’s not just kelly that is well known they have acts like Tinie Tempah, ED SHEERAN(whom you probably don’teven know), Jason Derulo, calvin Harris even Beyonce. So kelly scoring a top 10 hit in the UK is not a huge deal. It’s easy for anyone to do it.
Her Ex-factor gig came on her as a thing of luck not like Europeans were begging for kelly. No they weren’t. They would rather have Beyonce, but since kelly doesn’t have a career she has all the free time on her hands that’s why she was chosen.

Simply Deep sold 77,000 in its first week and it ended up selling over 600,000 copies in the US and 1,400,000 million overseas! So you who are making funny sound so damn stupid. Hate to admit it, but Rihanna’s first week of sales for GGGB were so low but she sold over 9 million copies of that album!

600,000 copies in the US in 2003 is flop flop flop. People were buying albums then and the market was not saturated with illegal downloading, youtube, music sharing and all and she scored that low.

Kelly Rowland’s BEST YEARS are now almost a decade behind her. 2002 was her biggest sales year (when DC, and those “so affiliated”, were “so blessed” by that “DC magic”)! That first solo effort was 73K first week, and 600K Total U.S. OTC sales. According to RIAA, she’s NEVER had a ‘Platinum Certified’ song nor CD!
I really don’t think she can still depend on that “DC affiliation” to NOW move units, nor sell concert/tour tickets!

But, people weren’t checking for her. That’s when she decided to go over to Europe. And, she blew up over there! So, she already has a solid fan base there. Now, she’s trying to give the U.S. another chance in terms of building an audience. As you’ve said, she never really had a “strong” fan base here to begin with, so I don’t know why people are expecting her to “move mountains”. It’s going to take time. Bottom line is too many people got cocky thinking Kelly would sell off of Motivation and Bet awards performance. When her cd was leaked, people were not feeling the material. Aside from stans or die hard fans, most critics and people were bashing the cd on blogs. It was an immediate backlash. AND her team messed up promos. Smart move would have been to get her on X factor here ala JLo. Promo the cd, had her perform live. Different outcome. Not being negative, just some things that should have been done different. Comparing her and Bey or cutting Bey or other artists don’t change these facts. I have always been a fan of Kelly along with Bey. But from reading blogs, I saw it coming. It was too much overhype. They should have played it out like Letoya on her first cd. They promo’d her on myspace but didn’t overhype her. They let the music sell for itself. So when she did hit #1, it was something to brag about.

If you don’t like an artist that’s fine, but to put so much energy into hating someone you don’t know or speaking ill against someone who could care less about you is just sad. You can’t be happy with yourself and your situation because happy people don’t invest that much time into releasing so much negative energy into the universe.
