R&B/Dance ‘Commander’ Kelly Rowland‘s promo train is pushing full steam ahead, as the singer was most recently spotted dishing on her latest album, ‘Here I Am’ (in stores today), with the Breakfast Club on Power 105.1. Though bombarded with the usual (Destiny’s Child reunion, split from Matthew, Beyonce comparisons) quizzings, fans of the radio show know host Charlamagne the God went there (in so many different ways).

Sigh, Charlamagne. In typical fashion, Charlamagne was abrasive and disrespectful, but Kelly kept cool. The singer is gaining quite the reputation for keeping it PC (and PG) when faced with ‘compromising’ interviews. Media training 101 we suppose.

I don’t know what the figures are here in the States. I know here there have been a lot of not so good reviews of Here I Am minus a few. I hope because there was so much hype there isn’t a backlash. I got the cd and it’s really great songs on there. I wish Turn It Up would have been the 2nd single but it’s ok. I do hope it does well. If not, it’s Stan War August edition coming I fear.

@ Pop Royalty – that would be great! I do hope that one day Bey and Kelly stans can get along. Their both from DC and it should not be a competiton. Bey promoted Kelly’s cd (just like she did in 2006 for her Miss Kelly era at the BET awards) and most of the Beehive backed Kelly up this time around. The drama is really old now! So, if Kelly’s #’s are decent and we get a whole bunch of shade tomorrow… we tried!

Kelly is doing the damn thing with the promo now… Vibe cover, Breakfast Glub, Gayle King Morning Show, 106th & Park, CD signing, a couple of other radio shows, and that was just the first day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kelly will sell between 100,000-150,000 easily! And because she’s walking the album, her sales will be consistant and she’ll probably go GOLD in a month and most def will reach platinum! Kelly has a lot of devoted fans who’ve been rooting for her all these years and have been sick of tired of her being the underdog!
