Sadly, I never really knew Amy Winehouse that Well but I’m familar with some of her songs but I didnt know she sang them..

Why wasn’t everyone saying this when she was alive…..2 days before her death no one cared. Everyone was saying “she needs to die” and all sorts of evil things and then as soon as she died the fakes come out…she was booed off of stage and no one knew her situation..I didnt even find that funny in any sort of way…If this Lady was shown the appreciation these people claim to have had for her from the start, if she was shown that people still believe in her and that there was hope…this could have easily been avoided!

  19. Those That Cannot Do, Stan July 25, 2011

    Pop music? WTF??

I’m pretty sure Amy would have cut her own throat rather than be known as a pop artist or her genre as pop.

Sheesh, Gaga can be so clueless.

RIP Amy, you were an amazing SOUL singer.

  20. YEABEY Likes to Party! July 25, 2011

    Lmao You are all right…
Lady Gaga as much as I like her is just saying that to be nice…how fake!

“I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her.”

    Wow Gaga. just… wow!! :@

you always have to make everything about yourself don’t you? i can’t.

  23. Kellymotivation July 25, 2011

Her music was 100% SOUL MUSIC…..There was no pop in her music

  24. LACEFRONCAPE’S WIG = THE BEST THING SHE NEVER HAD(SUCKS TO BE LACEFLOP NOW!) AKA ISTANN4GAGA July 25, 2011

I don’t get how Gaga made this about herself….Sure gaga felt “not alone” because of Amy but that doesn’t mean amy was the only one who made her feel that way….

As for Amy’s genre…she’s in the same case as Beyonce (Mainly one genre but has some pop song(s).)

  25. lol July 25, 2011

while i think its nice for all these celebrites to pay their respects to Amy Winehouse , i cant help but feel like well.. the bastards never helped Amy when she was alive or even reached out to her , and dont tell me they couldn’t because how many times have we heard of celebrites reaching out to other celebrities managements to set up dates/collaborations. As for Gaga’s comment the ” I remember …feeling not alone because of her. ” part i thought was inappropriate, Gaga is a good artist but she was not cut from the same musical cloth as Amy. Amy REALLY didnt care about money , Amy didnt craft her music just so it could land in the top forty chart of billboard. So i thought it was messed up that gaga would even insinuate that she and Amy were anything alike

  26. ole skool July 25, 2011

Funny how Lady Gags would comment given the fact that she still abuses drugs all the time… strange indeed

EXACTLY THE POINT I WAS TRYING TO MAKE! WHERE WAS EVERYONE AND ALL THESE CELEBS DURING HER TIME OF NEED? NO ONE CARED! AND ITS SAD!!!!!

  28. True Blue July 25, 2011

You know, I totally get where the people who are saying “where was all this adoration when she was alive?” are coming from, but I think it’s a bit of a falsehood to say that no one was praising her while she was alive. Hell, the past few weeks, on practically all the Adele posts, there were more than plenty of people saying “we want Amy back, forget this overrated b****!”. Amy has ALWAYS been praised for her talent in spite of her issues, people have always pointed out what a shame that such talent has to be accompanied by so many troubles. Since she’s dead now, of course there’s gonna be more of an outpour of praise from people, and yes some of it will come from those who were laughing at her when she was at her lowest. But it’s not exactly like she was MJ, where the contrast between the ridicule and the praise before and after his death was so extreme it was practically unreal.

And I don’t see how it was Gaga’s or any other celebrity’s responsibility to get Amy help if they didn’t personally know her. Furthermore, Amy was a grown woman. People need to realize that a person has to WANT to be helped in order to successfully overcome their addiction. How many times has Amy been to rehab, sometimes against her will? Exactly. My heart aches for her death, but I honestly wish people would stop acting like she was a child fully under the control of adults. She wasn’t. Unless you personally knew her situation, don’t start assigning blame like you know s***.

  29. Libra July 25, 2011

There wasn’t any pop in Amy’s music. However, Back to Black was a commerical hit and Amy became a Pop icon. I don’t think what Gaga said was out of line. I think Amy opened up doors for artist to be different like, Gaga, Adele, Jessie J, etc.

Personally, I was a fan of Amy’s Frank album. Back to Black, not so much. Even though I’m not shocked, I loved Amy and am saddened by her death.

People always praise people more after they have died. It’s ashame that people are like that, but that is just the way it is.

Exactly, I know people wish something had been done to help Amy sooner but it’s unrealistic to think anyone outside of Amy’s family could ever convince her to go to rehab. Serious addiction does NOT work that way.

    @True Blue
i get what your saying. ultimately Amy’s life was what she made of it. but i for one just cant shake this eery feeling i have about her death, i remember i was on another site almost a year ago, where people were discussing Amy because she was in public looking VERY well put together, lookin like she was ready to be back in the public spotlight. Then the someone commented that this year would be a very landmark year for Amy Winehouse because she was turning 27, and that most troubled singers die at 27, now here we are almost a year later Amy has joined 27 club. i saw Footage of her last performance that happened threed days before her death, she really seemed to be in good spirits. i was glad that she hadn’t let the media keep her from making public appearances

Ummm, Amy Winehouse didn’t open doors for Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga actually had to change her looks and her image because when she was a shy brunette, labels refused to sign her because she looked too much like Amy Winehouse.

  34. MusicFan July 25, 2011

Some of y’all are ignorant. Adele is soul but he’s also got a pop feel in some songs, same with Amy. Yal just do anything to bring her down.

RIP Amy, she’s in a better place now..

  35. Davy July 25, 2011

This attention seeking b**** is always inspired someone, but it’s never the people she sounds like shes ripping off.

Alessandro = Ace of base, all that she wants
Born this way = express yourself

This personality disorder b**** is using everything to stay in the limelight, nothing sincere about this comment.

  36. Those That Cannot Do, Stan July 25, 2011

I get Lady Gaga was trying to say something nice but it would be like someone saying condolences to Michael Jackson but calling him a great ‘rapper’. Or like calling Gaga an R n B singer because maybe 3 of her songs have that feel.

Amy Winehouse was a soul singer, it was the genre she loved and committed to and that should be respected. Don’t call her something she wasn’t. Gaga is a pop singer, that’s her genre, it was not Amy’s.

  37. B_stanning July 25, 2011

    R I P AMY. …………. I LOVED HER MUSIC

  38. Bobbydoll July 26, 2011

Lady Ga Ga makes me vomit. She is so over rated. Lady G is not that unique. Amy W, was truly an original. It was a disgrace that people booed her off stage, in Belgrade. I never judge addicts.

  39. Anonymous July 29, 2011

Lady Gaga is nothing compared to Amy Winehouse!
