Leona Lewis ‘Collides’ With Producer Over Plagiarism Claim?

Published: Wednesday 20th Jul 2011 by Rashad

Leona Lewis may have come to a road block on her comeback trail.  The ‘Bleeding Love’ singer recently took to Twitter to respond to claims that her new song ‘Collide’ stole a piano riff from producer/DJ Avicii‘s (Tim Bergling) song “Penguin”.  While Lewis’ song producer has claimed the song did credit the Swedish DJ, the ‘Better In Time’ songstress kept her silence until yesterday.

See what the singer had to say below:

The producer responded:

If pressed, the issue could lead to Lewis’ song being yanked from radio release.  As ever, we will keep you informed as this story develops.  Until then, you can listen to ‘Collide’ here.

Are music execs REALLY able to COMPLETELY pull a song off of the radio for legal reasons? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but the only reason I’m asking is bc I just heard that Monica feat. Rick Ross, Missy & Lil Kim for the 4th time this week WITH Kim’s verse on it… I thought Ms. Wallace didn’t approve of Kim’s verse on the song o_O

I LOVE the song and I WISH all the best to Leona. I support artists who try something new.
At that point of her career she needs to take risks.
