Damn! It seems so early for snippets but the album does come out in like a fews weeks so I guess it is about time.
I like what I’ve heard. Most of these sound really hot! Primarily r&b but has pop in it as well it still sounds like it could appeal to mainstream. She does dance music really well. I think she should release ‘Im Dat Chick’ as her next single. It’s hot as f***, uptempo & I think will has the potential to do better than ‘Motivation’ on the Hot 100. ‘Lay It Down’ just isn’t doing it for me and it’s clearly not doing anything on the charts.
I’m still devastated that ‘Geronimo’ didn’t make the album! Ugh! I was sooo excited to hear it but I guess it didn’t fit with the album. I hope Chris will at least use it cause I don’t want it to go to waste. I’m still hoping her version will leak though! *crosses fingers*

This cd isn’t sounding too bad. I must say that I’m pleasantly surprised, she’s really showing some promise. Too often Kelly gets the pity vote and people over exaggerate on praising her for a great performance or song. Her stans seem to get caught up in this fight for the under dog, where they would like to see her get into her own lane and form her own identity away from being in Bey’s shadows. The way you do that is by singing well written songs that click with people. It’s nice to see that she’s finally heading in this direction. I actually feel like people can genuinely say that they appreciate this album from what I’m hearing so far and it won’t come from this place of just rooting for her because your #team Kelly. I’m happy for her, because I didn’t have but so much faith in her. Now, Kelly is coming across like a real artist to me. I personally thought that her stans would have been in heaven if “4” were her masterpiece, but since it’s Beyonce’s some people will still hate on it. Now, that Kelly is coming off strong it won’t feel like people are clouded by their desire for her to outdo Bey – it’ll finally really be about her music! That really is an achevement and I’m truly happy that she’s not releasing music that lackluster and dated. I wish her luck!

She also did a feature with Sean Paul on, “Baby Boy”. Those were #1 songs that she did featured collaborations with, and nobody said boo! Here are some other featured artists she’s done work with – “The Closer I Get To You” with Luther Vandross, “Deja Vu with Jay-Z, “Upgrade U” with Jay-Z, “Beautiful Liar” with Shakira, “Check On It” with Slim Thug, just to name a few. Beyonce’s first #1 single as a solo artists was with her husband on, “Crazy In Love”. So, people need to stop with the madness already.

See here’s where I’m confused, Bey stans get lumped together just becuase 2 people from the Beehive aren’t impressed by Kelly’s cd. You still have a couple of people expressing that Kelly did a great job this time around(in that clan). I’m not sure what is expected from Bey stans in terms of “supporting” Kelly, by why is she singled out? Where’s the interest in support for Michelle? Heck, what about LeToya Luckett – Torn and Regret go so hard! She fought for her success. I just think that these Kelly stans are always comparing. This album is exactly what it needs to be and it represents Kelly fully – Its basically a musical representation of who she is as a person. Rooted in R&B with splashes of Pop and Dance which is exactly who kelly is. For the haters who continue to throw shade its all good – you guys will probably end up downloading it anyway and for the people who wanted more dance – don’t forget the deluxe version has 2 more tracks and I can vouch personally that “Each Other” is pure sonic fire.
She has something for everyone really.

What else do u really want. Seriously. Plus the obvious reason for the majority of the RnB tracks is because A – it takes her back to her roots and B – all of her core rnb fans kept saying that kelly abandoned them when she went “dance” so she is trying to reconnect with them plus she already has 12 top 40s in the UK – they love her and she knows it – now she is trying to expand her urban fan base. The only real rnb songs she has released is “Separated/Delimma/Like This/Motivation”. She is kinda playing catch up with the her urban fan base (who shouldve copped Ms Kelly if it was that serious)
All in all I am very suprised at how much im lovin this album. When I first saw the tracklist I was kinda disappointed when I saw it was only 10 tracks and 12 with the deluxe but truth be told, Id rather have a cd with 12 hot tracks then and cd with 17 songs that 6 i have to skip over!
Ms Kelly did that with a nice blend of rnb and dance with a balld or two – Kelly Rowland to the core and I cant wait to get my copy of the deluxe version!!!

I thought that this album was going to have more of a pop mix for the european version, and although they’re just snippets all the songs seem like they would sound similar on an album and would sound better on a mix tape.

I guess it’s okay, not something I would get too excited about. I guess i’m at the point now where I just like music that actually use music. I didn’t hear any horns or brass sounds, guitar or any musical instruments that would make this album stand out to me. There was one song that had a little piano, but that was it. Many of these beats seem like they were made off of “garage band”. Her voice sounds fine. But in all honesty that’s what sells now and artist are only good as the numbers they bring in according to some people, but it was just a snippet. I wish her the best of luck, but I liked “Simply Deep” the best.

Why compare this to Beyonce album??? You can’t say if this is better or worse. You can only assess how well they do chart wise. At the end of the day that doesn’t even say which is better, just one is more marketable and that does nothing to prove musicality. I really want to like it but it’s not consistent at all. You can tell she worked with a bunch of different producers, I will judge the album fully once I buy it but as of right now it’s just okay.

I don’t know about the other songs man. I love Kelly, but as someone noted, most of them sound so generic. I really wanted her to breakthrough and do something so wildly different but it’s just mainstream R&B that ain’t moving much. I’m not being negative, just based on first impressions of the snippets.

It seems as though commander is out of place on this album, and so does that last track. I hope there will be a european version with more dance inspired tracks like On and On. I will be buying the deluxe version of this one as well. It’s funny how Kelly had us amped up about a dance inspired album but completely flipped the script and released an 80 percent r&b album. I feel as though this could have had a bit more pop appeal. Why couldn’t there have been like at least 12 tracks?

From someone who’s been following her from the beginning…I will have to say this is the best work she’s done and will be more commercial success for her. If I were on her promo team, I would definitely want her promoting right now until the album comes out. Everyday she’d be on a show, at a concert or something. I dont think commander should be on the album–it should have been a bonus track…unless it was the urban version with Nelly…that wouldve made more sense to me in the context of the album, but she made the decisions and did what she wanted to do. Commander was a big hit for her worldwide…so cant deny it just cuz the US is a lil slow
