That Grape Juice asked readers yesterday to weigh the impact of Kanye West and Jay-Z‘s joint effort ‘Watch the Throne’. Now, reports have surfaced indicating two of hip hop’s other heavyweights have already put those wheels in motion – Lil’ Wayne and Drake. Revealed by Cash Money founder/rapper Birdman to our friends at XXL, the Young Money duo is preparing a joint release after their respective ‘Tha Carter IV’ (August 29th) and ‘Take Care’ (October 24) albums.
Birdman stated:
“It’s older versus younger. I listened to a few songs [off Watch The Throne] and it feels like an older feel to me. I think with Drake and Wayne, they young. They young cats. You got 23 and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. So, it’s two different types of music all the way across the board.”
No title or tentative release date has been confirmed.

I know Jay Z is 40 but Kanye ain’t that old and they both are still very relevant in the industry today! That’s obvious by how well ‘WTT’ is doing. Birdman can’t talk cause he is about the same age as Jay only difference is he puts out garbage and Jay is still making hits!
Actually, Drake had mentioned this a while ago in an interview, sometime last year. He even said how it was his idea first & then ‘two other rappers decided they wanted do the same thing’ obviously taking shots at Jay & Kanye. It’s not surprising cause they are ALWAYS working together! Drake & Wayne are on everybody and their mama’s records! They are two of the most over exposed rappers in the game. I can’t knock their hustle but it does it quite annoying. I have a feeling this album will be highlu anticipated though.
Honestly, I am not the biggest fan of Drake or Wayne so I’m not really looking forward to it. I’ll probably check it out though cause I wasn’t really looking forward to WTT but now I can’t stop listening to it. WTT was a lot better than I thought initially. Being that WTT came out first I am sure Wayne & Drake’s album will be compared to it. This is gonna be interesting.
I just PRAY that Birdman will not be featured on this album at all cause he sucks ass!
