Although there were many buzzworthy moments from last night’s MTV Video Music Awards, one of the highlights was undoubtedly comeback kid’s Chris Brown‘s stage-blazing performance. Though cheered on by celebrities and fans alike, one person didn’t look too entertained – rap mogul Jay-Z.
While the rap royal’s noted relationship with pop singer Rihanna has led many to believe he is not exactly atop Brown’s fanclub mailing list, he took that rumor to new heights with a Tweet from earlier today and his appearance during the ‘She Ain’t You’ singer’s live showing:

I think he enjoyed the performance. Notice he was trying to see around the steadicam operator to see Chris. If he didn’t like it, he wouldn’t have done that. He was also sitting on the arm of the chair. Not all the way in the seat. I think this was his way of giving props (without really giving props).

I actually think Kanye stood up and show his support for Chris, because he knows how it feels to be an outcast. People doesn’t realize how nervous Chris had to be returning to the mainstream stage knowing that they still hasn’t fully excepted him back. The urban community has moved on but the mainstream media and fans are still stuck on 2009, even though Rihanna is following on twitter to show everyone that she has moved on. At 22 I think Chris is a very strong young man, because I know I couldn’t endure all the hate he received worldwide over the past two years. I don’t think I could handle it. I see why he rant on twitter, and he can’t retire because music is job, so going away isn’t an option. I thought I was the only one that thought that. I always wondered how he felt. VMAs is bigger than BET so he had to be nervous and I was relieved when they gave him a standing ovation. I feel nervous for him because I always expect the worse but hope for the best. You never know these days. I remember when he was doing DWTS hours before some blog reported that there was a rumor going around people were planning to boo him so that night I was relieved he got standing ovations after both performances. He probably feels nervous too I couldn’t be in a room when I have a feeling half the people there don’t like me. I don’t neccessary think the way he snaps occassionally is okay he should learn to deal with it better but in a way I kinda get why. He just has to know the only way he can continue to make the fans happy and the media even more mad is to smile and be positive and keep going don’t allow them to see you mad. Everytime he gets upset I feel he should channel it into a good performance or something. But I don’t think MTV would have booked him if they thought for a second it was gonna be a diaster. They knew what was up after the Today Show performance lol.
But the media tries it all the time. If Chris is acting a fool then they are making up rumors and stirring s*** up. Like more recently he has been alot more positive and I see alot more ridicolous rumors that some sources stir up just because they are obviously bored. That’s annoying because I have a feeling they want to keep going until they know he’ll snap I hope he continues to deal with bs in a proper manner maybe then they’ll know they can’t break him.

I really don’t know if Jay dislikes Chris or not and speculating about it with no confirmation or denials are just a waste of time. I couldn’t really make sense of the tweet though.
For those that talk about Jay like he’s a god or somehow a better human being than others remember ( which most probably don’t, I had forgotten about it) Jay stabbed a man in a club, a producer or something, years ago and plead guilty to it ( somehow it was plead down to a misdemeanor and his gun charge was dropped) So I don’t think Jay would/should be passing judgement after something like that and people really Need to stop using Jay as some moral Compass. Jay’s incident was a LONG time ago and he was looking at a lot of time ( google it, but I don’t think it’s on Wikipedia so don’t count on that).
