It seems R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, has caught the mixtape bug, like contemporaries Chris Brown and Trey Songz. In addition to a role in the upcoming film ‘Redtails’, Ne-Yo plans to release the free set of music, entitled ‘101’, before his fifth studio album hits shelves this Fall.

2011 BET Awards host Kevin Hart is set to pull hosting duties on the upcoming mixtape. Ne-Yo revealed the news in a series of tweets.
“Ladies and Gents…stay tuned for my 101 mixtape hosted by @kevinhart4reall lil something to hold ya til the album is ready! Coming soon!!”
“Warning…this mixtape will show a side of me rarely seen…my imperfect side! But it’s all in good fun ya’ll. Don’t panic! LOL!!”

I think the reason why most artist are releasing mixtapes, to filled their fans out and see what they like. Just because they like the song doesn’t necessary mean that the majority will love the song. Music is changing so much into electro pop and s** songs, its hard to determine what song people are feeling. Yes he was back and forth with Chris over the past two years, like a woman. One day they are friends the next day he is mad at Chris, like they were in some relationship LOL. He needs to stop airing out his feelings against other artist and put out a good song.

Screw all u discouraging Ne-Yo. Libra Scale was not even bad at all. Yeah, Year of the Gentleman had much more classic songs, but that doesn’t make Libra Scale a bad album. Yall need to chill with who’s better in the R&B community. It ain’t a competitive thing. Every artist should give it their best in their work. it’s clear to see that Ne-Yo has a different style in his music than most modern R&B artists. Ne-Yo tends to make different sounds of music because he’s a songwriter and he writes and records for different genres in music.
Whatever he turns his hand to is alright by me! Love all he does! 🙂 xx
