    This is the most overrated, wack, half-hearted mess I’ve ever heard in my life.In almost every track they are not even rapping!!!!They are singing or talking, like Nicki does, almost like Nelly does.This is how bad it is!!!There is no flow, no hot rhymes, no hot verses, nothing!And people still believe that this album will write hip hop history.Well, yes, it did write history, it murdered and buried real hip hop forever.R.I.P.

    100% true the real rap hip hop is gone. This s*** is pure garbage and those who are buying it is because of their name. Jay-Z really lost his flow and need to retire ASAP

    Of course ‘Lift Off’ didn’t disappoint. N*ggas in Paris, Oooooh weeee Nice! Otis, yesssssss! That’s a problem , I don’t care what anybody says. I like Made in America too. I’m a Kanye fan and not so much Jay, but they both came through! I just love ‘Ye verses in New Day & That’s my Bi*** more >>>> he’s really talented!

    It was great. The lyrical content was really good, as well as the beats. New Day has some deep lyrics. My faves off of the album are Lift Off, Otis, Gotta Have It, New Day, Welcome to the Jungle, Murder to Excellence and Made In America. But Lift off and New Day are my top faves.

  9. KD August 8, 2011

    In no particular order…these are the BOSS tracks;

    1. Lift Off (very little in terms of actual rapping, but the fact that it is unlike anything I have heard or am hearing at the moment makes it a plus)

    2. That’s My B****

    3. Murder to Excellence

    4. Made in America

    5. Why I Love You

    6. Illest Motha****** alive

  10. breezy August 8, 2011

    They just killed Lil Waynes career… sorry, they killed nearly whole young money career!!! Only good rappers left are, Jay, Ye, EM, Big Sean, GAME, Drake AND TYGA…. All other rappers r just wack!!! This album is very good, producing stunning IMO.

    But this ain´t the deluxe version, so I can only tell what i´ve heard

  11. Beyonslay STAN August 8, 2011

    B******, people are supposed to BUY the album not to hear it on this freaking site, geez, how disrespectful

  12. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) August 8, 2011

    The comment praising Tyga, Drake and Big Sean and calling them good rappers is exactly my point.People have forgotten what good rapping is so this album is going to sound like a masterpiece to them.This isn’t a rap album to me, sorry.There were hardly any tracks where I heard RAPPING, so this album is not a rap album…Sigh

  13. KSTYLES August 8, 2011

    vERy REFRESHING!!! YALL SAY THEY WACK BUT WHO GONNA STOP THEM???? : )

  14. tericka August 8, 2011

    Well they just did tha mutha f***** thang on this cd! Luvs it!!!

  15. risvano gonzalez August 8, 2011

    this album is like my mixtape

  16. bylaw99 August 8, 2011

    This is why hiphop sucks you people saying its hot, GTFOH how when they rarely rap more than 1 verse a piece each track and the music is all over the place. Compared to Em & Royce this is below expectations. I listend twice to make sure I wasnt bias but this is not what I was looking forward to from 2 of the most lyrical artist in the game. I’d rather hear Drake and Wayne and I hate them n*****.

  17. SOLANGEL August 8, 2011

    lmao did kanye just realy used a line from kreayshawn and iatee?

  18. Madonnalover August 8, 2011

    Preach asap! Preach b****!!!! this compared to black on both sides….pratically every mos def album kills this s***. This is not HIP HOP. Its trash.

  19. Madonnalover August 8, 2011

    @breezy
    Girl bye. Everyone you just named arent even real rappers. The f***? How about mos def, talib, nas, slick rick, nas……b**** all them REAL rappers kill everybody thats in the game right now.

  20. Harlem August 8, 2011

    LMAO at the f*** saying Jay Z and Kanye is not Hip Hip or Rappers…LMAO…….stick too your female pop stars…..

  21. Madonnalover August 8, 2011

    @harlem
    Honey take a listen to mathematics. That ONE song kills this whole album.

  22. jjenn August 8, 2011

    i dont like beyonce on lift off,she does not fit in on there..sorry but it needed a more edgy voice on the chorus…the album is ok..nothing great..but its not a bad album

  23. lol August 8, 2011

    umm did i just hear someone say that the whole album is thrash listen how the f*** an album with martin luther king,malcom x mentions is garbage.The throne talked about the struggle of blacks in america ,the nostalgia of growing up poor and from humble beginnings,absentee father issues.pressures of living in a moraless or godlesss industry(no church in the wild),questiong meaning in life(welcom to the jungle)as well as wishes and hopes for a better future and for the future sons.

    yes their is ALOT of braggin , arrogance,and ego in this album but theirs a LOT of Heart aand substanance too , and finally just because a mothafucka can rap fast DOES NOT MAKE them a better rapper . s*** even SOULJA BOY has rapped almost as fast as Eminem/ Busta Ryhmes on a track so he must be the GOAT to yall

  24. Madonnalover August 8, 2011

    @LOL
    Hun, kanye especially has made better. To me mos def is the greatest rapper alive but to each its own. I listened to this album and got nothing.

  25. lol August 8, 2011

    @Madonnalover
    true kanye has made better but it was still a dope album though. Mos def is a great rapper . i wish he would take a step back from movies. oh and the substance is here in the album itll take a few listens but its there

  26. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) August 8, 2011

    @LOL The problem is not the lyrics; it’s the style and the flow.They are NOT rapping.They are doing laid-back talking and sometimes even Nelly-like singing.Lyrically, it’s decent, but a hip hop album (that is believed to be making hip hop history lmao) is more than just lyrics and choruses.

  27. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) August 8, 2011

    @HARLEM If you’re referring to me, you should read my comment better.I said that IN THIS ALBUM neither of them is rapping apart from 2-3 tracks.And you think we should stick to our female popstars???If you think that’s real hip hop then you should stick with your delusions.

  28. Robier August 8, 2011

    @ asap….. I agree. I will a wait the Historical placement but all the rest I agree wit

  29. WildChild August 8, 2011

    As a Jay-Z fan I am so disappointed. Seriously? I haven’t been this disappointed in him since Kingdom Come..smh

  30. KINGB BISH August 8, 2011

    LUV IT #WTT OCT29TH #READY

  31. Them other chicks are superficial (queenbey) August 8, 2011

    Half of the ppl hatin on Jay and Ye think are the same ppl who think Wayne is the best rapper alive 🙄

  32. 4FlopStayInYourLaneBiotch(Beehive B****** Got Me Laughing) August 8, 2011

    I actually love lift off and Beyonce actually adds to the song instead of detracting from it. It’s actually one of my favorite tracks from the album so far.

  33. 4FlopStayInYourLaneBiotch(Beehive B****** Got Me Laughing) August 8, 2011

    But they aren’t really rapping lol it’s kind of talk-singing. Very disappointing since this was supposed to be a Rap/Hip-Hop album.

  34. mobwife August 8, 2011

    *MJB voice* Miss me with that Illuminati Jay! This entire CD is a hot mess. Beyonce’s pet camel is saying absolutely nothing. And why are they using such foul language while A** OCEAN sings about GOD and black leaders? this si a hot mess but as I stated will debut at #1 and win a Grammy in 2012!

  35. mobwife August 8, 2011

    @smokey and @ ASAP (As Sincere As Possible),

    Wow I thought I was alone in thinking this is pure crap! I am not a fan of Beyonce’s pet camel but I have enjoyed a few of his songs. I can say the same of Yee particularly the “Graduate era” but this right here is simply not it! IMO

  36. mobwife August 8, 2011

    And can someone please tell me JAYZ’s MUSICAL charm?

    I read many comments describing some artists as arrogant but who in the world is more “ME ORIENTED” than JayZ? On every track since I can recall he has always been all about himself. Why does he constantly receive a pass? It’s simply disgusting….

  37. MH August 8, 2011

    I like the album but it sounds like a Kanye album with Jay-Z featured on every song. It just seems as if Kanye came up with everything (song production, creative direction) and Jay just came in and wrote his rhymes. When I first heard they were making Watch The Throne, I thought it would be more of a best of both worlds thing. Kanye would take his more crossover appeal and Jay would take more of his street appeal and they would merge the sounds to create something new and fresh. This sounds like My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Part 2.

  38. Tia August 8, 2011

    People swear up and down they know what REAL hip hop is, when Rap was FIRST created it was just party music, something for the folks that couldn’t sing but still had skills to do, it didnt start off this lyrical……. Hip Hop is many things, not just what YOU think it is, just because you cant relate or feel the music doesn’t mean someone else cant. Im so tired of non talented people trying to decipher what real Hip hop is. I can agree that I expected more out of this album but it is VERY solid. Mos def has great songs and he has songs that SUCK! To each his own. Talib is very underrated as well, but how the f*** do you sit here and act like jay-z and Kanye can’t rap or arent just as much apart of Hip-hop as anyone else you named. I swear some of you old heads expect n***** to get on a 1980’s beat for a whole album and rap like n***** back in the day, IT IS 20ANDFUCKING11. If you hate this album so much take yo ass home and download what you like and shut up…..Like its one thing to actually critique the album like @MH did, but you people are just coming on here to talk s***….. its not that deep.

  39. Tia August 8, 2011

    now that i’ve said all that….heres what I think of the album, i agree it sounds like My beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy part 2, I love Ye on this album more then i liked Jay on it (which i already knew would happen) I think another feature would have been cool something a little radio friendly that still gives great lyrical content, because who is gonna play any of this on the radio? its more of a Hip-hop to roll to in my car type of album just like My beautiful dark twisted fantasy was.

    My favs are

    Why I love you- One of the few songs i feel that Jay-z spazzed on
    Made in America- Frank did the song justice with the hook. And i hear an actual message.
    N***** in Paris- I love yeezy’s verse in that
    Otis- Old school feel
    Welcome to the Jungle- I dont have a reason, i just like it
    Gotta have it- The one song I love BOTH of them on besides Otis
    Lift off- I live for Beyonce

    The ones i can live without
    No church in the wild- I think it was geeked up to be more then it was, it has to grow on me
    New day- blah
    Who gon stop me- I like a little cockiness in a song but….not a whole song
    Murder to excellence- it was okay

  40. Jay August 9, 2011

    That Beyonce track is pointless…WTF was that..this CD is average at best. I was really looking forward to it to.
