Nicki was gracious to Taylor Swift cos Taylor started the whole Super Bass frenzy. Nicki did not even plan to release it as a single until Taylor Swift rapped the song on the radio and afterwards the song is Nicki highest charted song thus far. It is not my fav song cos Super Bass is SO DAMN POP but Nicki had the song on her deluxe list and Taylor came across it and blew it up. Thanks to Nicki for showing Taylor love.
P.S. Super Bass is so Pop that it didn’t even encourage a DJ to create a hip hop remix to make it more urban. It’s so pop that no one can give it an urban sound. hahaha
This was a fun performance. I don’t understand why people are getting angry with Nicki for being a cross over artist. It’s called “The Music Business” and she knows who buys albums.

I cringe everytime I hear these young kids on blogs claim Nicki is not hip hop, she is pop. Well what teh hell was run dmc when he worked with aerosmith or they added rock influences into there music. Nobody never considered them anything but hip hop.
Hip hop evolves like any othe rmusic. Just because you have a pop song, does not mean it isn’t hip hop. Half of the hip hop you listen to on radio or mainstream has pop influences in them now because of how music has changed. So yes Nicki deserved to win.

Nicki will surprise me if she’s around in two years. She’s starting to annoy the hell out of me by trying so hard to cross over permanently. It just seems so forced. She always seems one step behind, say Lady Gaga or something. Trying way too hard. But Taylor Swift put the song on the map so it’s very sweet that they did this. Nicki has a lot of people that like her and like her style, in order to have longevity I wish she’d tone it down….

I didn’t say she wouldn’t be around–EVER. I also didn’t say that I didn’t like the b****. I’ll be surprised if the public doesn’t tire of her in two years. It’s not a diss, it’s just real.
