Very good point. The Jonas Brothers, BSB, Hanson & N’Sync were all HUGE! But their careers only lasted for about 6-7 years tops! They couldn’t even make it stretch for 10 years. But then again ‘boy bands’ or any type of band/group for that matter (especially female r&b) usually never last long. It’s always some type of conflict or drama that breaks them up. Or some of the members go on to do solo projects and they wind up never getting back together. Usually with boy bands, they hit puberty, their ‘cuteness’ wheres off and they just don’t appeal to anyone anymore.
I think solo artist have a better shot at longevity but Jesse McCartney was never actually that big at all. He had a couple hits and maybe a platinum album but I think Justin Bieber definitely surpassed Jesse as far as sales & global appeal. I think JB has made a bigger impact than Jesse McCartney in the industry. I don’t think Jesse was ever a ‘house hold’ name.
Like I said I’m not hatin on JB, I don’t want to put a timer on his career and say he will be done in a few years cause we honestly don’t know. But to be compared to MJ this early on in his career is just ridiculous.
