2011 has certainly been the year of groundbreaking albums.
From Adele‘s ’21′ at the start of the year to Lady GaGa‘s long awaited ‘Born This Way‘ in May which was then followed by Beyonce‘s ‘4‘ in June, it is fair to say that the earlier quarters of the year proved to be a bountiful one for Pop fans everywhere.
Now it seems the final four months of the year are looking to be just as competitive, with the likes of Drake, Rihanna, Jason Derulo, Leona Lewis ,Nicole Scherzinger and Mary J.Blige all releasing new LP’s before the year ends.

Lets see, mary always sells a lot, she may not have the hits but have an album with great music. When I last checked the great music never make it big on billboard but the dance tracks and sex music does.

Groundbreaking??Hmm…It was a good year for albums, I suppose, but groundbreaking is a bit too much, don’t you think??Anyway, none of those albums are going to dominate or be really HUGE in that sense.Drake and MJB will get a No.1 and then start slipping and Rihanna will have a lengthy chart run and Monica will do well (she needs to push the album back to December).J Cole may do well in the first 2-3 weeks as well, but he won’t sell a lot at the end of the day.I’m really underwhelmed by his album tbh.

If Monica’s album is properly launched, then it will be certified gold in 3-4 months for sure.It’s no problem for her.The audience is there, but the material is what counts and I’m hoping that ‘Anything’ is a buzz single and not the lead single because this song is doing nothing right now.She can sell much better than most urban artists based on her name alone, but it would be nice if her label got it right with the 2nd single.Her album will be successful for sure

Britney-In terms of music,it was OKay,but the Britney stans felt their bussies too much and her album underwhelmed in the end
Lil Wayne-Had one of the WORST albums that I’ve heard so far this year but the n**** can sell…
The Throne did well but people weren’t really feeling them this time around…
Gaga-I STAN for this woman and even without that 99 cent excuse that y’all keep propping up,she still sold a Shitload of albums during her first week.The only problem was the OVERhype from her camp.

Rihanna should clear 200+ K in the opening week, and about 4M+ by this time next year. I think Mary will take #1 in the US on 11/21, but Rihanna’s will sell more copies over the long haul.
Drake should sell well. I don’t know if he’ll open with 500K like his first LP, but his 1st week sales should be strong

but yeah i think that drake and mary j. will have bigger first week sales than rihanna, rihanna’s album is coming out the same week as mary j. so i think she will get a #2 or #3 album. but rihanna sales are more gradual like you said so in the long run she will out sell drake, but since r&b is not popular like it use to be i don’t think mary will sell as much as rihanna.
