I like Alicia, but this performance was a no-no.Truly horrible. It’s the first time she performs it live, so it’s kind of justified, but her vocals were really bad.Rough, unseasoned, untrained, too raspy…It was a vocal mess at times. She couldn’t even finish her sentences well. And girl, if you know that you’re not having a good vocal day, then why are you trying to do runs in the middle of the song??
On a brighter note, the song sounds great.I will be checking for the studio version (with good vocals, hopefully) and I hope it’s going to be on her album.

@ karl I guess you need to educate yourself about vocals, ranges and keys, tones and pitches, everything that have to do with voice cause your comment is from plain ignorance. poor you. don’t comment on something you know nothing about.

She was definitely sick last night but the song sounds great. She needs to perform it again when she’s rested. I think this could be a hit

The song sounds good, but this performance didn’t do it any justice. When she feels better, she should maybe perform the song on a TV show, just to get the bad taste out of people mouths.

Aww, nobody twisted your arm to make you watch this. If you think she’s SO boring, why even watch her at all? Oh yes I see, just so you could do some name calling and put her down. There are lots of ignorant people like that. No need for the hate. Now why don’t you just trot along to what you do like to watch. On another note this performance was so beautiful. She did an excellent job on every song she sung.

I wasn’t even gonna mention the vocals or the piano slip ups cos it’s her first live performance of it. Her vocals are still great (she can still perform all of her hits in the same key as the original recordings). She does it all too. Chill out!

songs that start with predictable phrases like “When it rains it pours” always get even more generic and this did not disappoint.

I swear EVERYTIME A Keys hits the stage and sounds a mess, her fans always say she’s sick. Cut that crap. The woman ain’t sick. her voice is getting tired.
I love this song off 1st listen but I’m hoping the studio version sounds better cause she was pitchy all over. Cut out this ‘She’s sick’ BS. Accept the fact that this is how she sounds and will sound for the rest of her career.

If ANY 1 of you negative b*tches were lucky enogh to attend any 1 of her piano and I performances over the summer you would not be talking sh*t and you would clearly know that she was under the weather last night. At those shows it was her and her piano absolutely no back up whatsoever and for 2.5 hours straight she tore a whole in that damn beacon theatre. Youtube it b*tches and suck on that and holla at me when your fav can do a show with no music no backgrounds no anything and perform for 2 hours straight and keep the audience attention for every second. Haters never rest!!

Well, it was a pretty decent performance. The song was beautiful, dope lyrics, but her vocals were a bit off especialy towards the end. I’ve seen her live and she can give a great performance and sustain vocally throught out the entire show but it seems like her vocals were a bit strained her. Oh well.
I am really looking forward to new music from her. I just hope she comes harder than her last album cause that put me to sleep. Other than ‘Uthinkable’ & ‘Try Sleep With A Broken Heart’, it was totally boring to me. A couple of the more recent songs that I’ve heard haven’t really done anything for me, not that they were bad but just not something you could find yourself listening to over and over again. She usually comes really hard with the first single so hopefully she won’t disappoint this time around.
This song is cute but it certaintly isn’t single material. I guess we shall see.
S/N: I LOVE her hair. It was all cute & frizzy. Lol!

Loved it! Thanks to Alicia for introducing us to a new song. I don’t think she was sick, but it was I suppose the first time she sang it live. Maybe nerves? I think she did a great job. She’s always so personal and passionate with her music. She is a very special performer and there is no one like her. As far as TEOF album, it was my favorite and I think she’s only going to continue to get better. There were several songs on that album that I thought should have been released that weren’t but it was still an amazing album. Loved “Love is Blind, This Bed, Pray for Forgiveness, and That’s how Strong My Love Is. None of them released as a single., but as far as I’m concerned these were the best.
