When your mom is Whitney Houston and your dad Bobby Brown, naturally expectation is that you follow in their foot-steps. And follow, on her own accord, a young Bobbi-Kristina Brown looks set to do.
Long have we heard word that the 18 year old has been vocally-training (as a prelude to a full-on chart assault) and if her newly released cover of Adele‘s smash ‘Someone Like You’ is anything to go by, her hard work seems to have paid off.

The Whitney comparisons are undoubtedly inevitable, with those expecting the the 2nd coming likely disappointed by the lack of vocal acrobatics. However, Ms. Brown doesn’t appear concerned with modelling herself as such – serving up instead a wholly enjoyable and commendable take on a great song. Her tone and control were particularly impressive.

How can someone criticize someone based on her looks!!! Gap teeth or not, she’s a beautiful young lady who actually has some form of talent….unlike some who have none.
I applaud her effort but her voice (now) just isn’t strong enough to compete with singers today. But given that the singers who are popular in today’s world don’t even know how to hold a tune, Bobbi Christina actually has a chance. Her voice is good, not great but still pleasant to listen to.

As someone else said, this is standard pop-girl-group singing. pretty average, but she can definitely sing, but if it wasn’t for the fact her mum is WHITNEY HOUSTON no1 would be checking for her, as in reality her voice really aint that good. she would be good in a girl group (albeit there would need to be someone else other than her on lead vocals). If your gonna cover an Adele song you need to come harder than that. There was ZERO emotion in her voice and overall the song just seemed to be too big for her. Oh well, wish her the best of luck

That said, Bobbi Kristina does need some lessons. After that, she could potentially be a great singer. 1) She sings from her heart
2) Not one note was out of tune
3) She does have a great tone, definitely not the crystal-clear tone of her mother at the same age (Home @ Merv Griffin Show) but more like the raspy tone of Jazmine Sullivan
4) No she doesn’t have a powerful voice like Whitney but you don’t need to have a powerful voice like Whitney to be a good vocalist. And no one has even heard her sing a song that needs powerful vocals so who knows? Maybe she does have a powerful voice!
But Bobbi Kris needs to quit smoking (just like Adele and Whitney) before it starts to damage her voice.

This was a little bit of a let down. She wasn’t awful, but not quite in her mother’s league at the moment. I will say this, some voices need time to mature and develop. Bobbi’s still very young and if she works at it she may improve a lot more. I’m glad she seems to take a liking to other gifted vocalist (such as Adele). Their influence will definitely steer her on the right track.

what happened to the days when REAL MUSIC used to dominate tthe charts..
everything on the radio sounds the same…
can we bring back R&B music? rock, reggae?

That entire video was a hot ass mess. I just can’t between the long ass weave and the gap in her teeth it was already messy enough but then she couldn’t even remember the words to the song. Her singing was off and if she seriously wants to become a singer she is going to need a vocal coach and a LOT of autotune #NEXT

Poor thing, she looks just like her damn Daddy! Its like they took his face and put it on on her body. She really needs to get her gapped fix, that would be some improvement! She can’t help that she took after him though so I will leave her alone.
Anywho, she actually sounded pretty good! Of course it wasn’t as good as Adele, but it was much better than I expected! It’s obvious she didn’t inherit her mother’s vocal ability but this was a good effort. Plus she is young so with age and some vocal training she could improve.
It’s natural for her to have a interest in music & singing because of her parents but it doesn’t neccessarily mean she wants a career in singing. Who knows maybe she was just bored playing in her room and wanted to record herself singing a song. I guess time will tell if she wants to make singing her career choice. I just hope she gets a fair shot and doesn’t get too much criticism because of her parents.

Impressive what! thats hurt, i can’t even listen OMG now i know why this site is comparing legendary singers to new pop stars, i’m sorry honey you don’t have the voice of your mother, TGJ is impressive with this voice girl, thats why you put Beyonce in the same level of Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, because Beyonce has a good voice not impressive but her voice is ok, you think she is the best singer of all times umm… now i know.

It sounded and looked as if she was giving it her all, she had to put forth a lot of effort to render this average at best vocal showing. If these are post vocal training results than I am concerned about obvious control weaknesses. To suggest that vocal acrobatics is the only thing that seperates her from Whitney in her prime is very insulting to Whitney and ignores Whitney’s superior tone, control, power, and overall vocal ability at that time. I hope Bobbi can benefit from further vocal training but if not based on today’s standards with the right music she could blend in among the group of pop females occupying the lower tier of vocal ability yet still having varied levels of success.

It’s such a disservice to her to compare her to her mom. she is her own person doing her own thing. Such high standards to live up to from her mom to her grandmom to dionne warwick. I’m sure she knows. She’s only 18, that’s a lot of pressure for a kid. She did a fine job acapella. I wouldn’t judge her on this performance. I’d say from watching she has presence and potential. She sounded good and slays the kids on Disney. That’s a start.

I’m not expecting a Whitney voice but she clearly is an average singer. her vibrato is average, her intonation is average, everything is average.

well if everythng she has is average and she was just playing around then she is off to a good start because alot of junk on the radio now is below average with protools and auto tune. She sounds decent. she needs to focus, get with a good vocal coach and build up a fan base throuch social media. Get a manager.

Look, the little bitch is average at best. Compare krissi’s a capella against charice who is just 1 yr older. NOTE the huge difference in diction, lack of rasp, control, and range. Krissi isnt there yet but with tons of work she *could* get to a pro’s level. Yea, her breathing is terrible. She needs to put down the Newports and drinking. She’s shy as fuck too! That doesnt bold well for confidence which affects a person’s willingness to sing at full range (if she has any). Right now, Krissi is worse than the pro youtube singers who cant get a record deal. If she wasnt Whitney’s daughter, no one would give 2 shits or a fuck. She doesnt have natural talent like her mom; this kid needs to work 24-7 to sound half-decent. No soul, passion, or emotion right now. Get over that damn shyness, you little twat. That’s half the battle. Oh yea, get the fucking lyrics right before you sing in front of millions online, geeez.
