Watch: X-Factor USA: Auditions (Episode 1)

Published: Wednesday 21st Sep 2011 by Rashad

The X-Factor USA is here!

Fox’s much hyped British import has finally kicked off on American soil and looks set to be the biggest show of its kind.

Featuring judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, LA Reid and Nicole Scherzinger, the show favours American Idol with its nationwide auditions. However, there is a defining twist in that  groups and solo acts over 25’s are eligible to enter.

Unsurprisingly, with this being the audition phase, the talented and talent-challenged came out in equal measure for a crack at progressing to the next stage.

Check out the best and worst (as they become available) from this, the first show, below…

I would never watch this show as long as L.A Reid is on there. My friend watch it and said he was awful. I’m dying to see what the rating going to be like next week

I really like you Simon…but The X-Factor in the USA was horrible. It just didn’t work! It was obvious you were trying to make it such an iconic show, but it just came off as corny. And what happened to the mean Simon??? He let almost EVERYONE go through…L.A. Reid was the only one who sought out the REAL Talent.

Simon, you better get it together QUICK…cause time is running OUT.

Maybe Mariah will bring the momentum!!!

  4. I HATE TGJ September 21, 2011

  7. James September 21, 2011

American media appears to favor Cheryl Cole over Nicole Shitsinger. Need to learn to keep your mouth shut thatgrapejuice.

  8. Prince September 21, 2011

Isn’t Terrell Carter the one who……………….. Never mind lol.

  9. Robier September 21, 2011

Terrell carter come on….. dude already been in Tyler Perry movies and Stage plays before he was outed by pics with his hispanic lover.

Love the show… I hated Nicole as a judge on The Sing Off but she did a good job tonight…Cheryl wouldnt have worked here…we dont know her she should have just stayed on the UK show…we know Nicole, Simon, Paula and LA….I cant wait to see what else comes from this show…Im rooting for Chris hope he can stay straight!!!!

  12. Leila September 22, 2011

It was a good premiere, but I don’t why for the moment, I prefer the British version.. more chemistry or somethin. They take, a little girl, a black mother with 3 babies, and a drug addicted.. but the guy who show his d*** was very funny ahah.. paula abdul was sick.. c’mon Paula, you never seen that before lol! I still say that Cheryl Cole will have be a better judge, but I understand the fact that people don’t know her, but Nicole shitsinger yes. That’s unfair, but its true. Cheryl cole should been on this show. I have respect for Simon, and I know this show will be a lot more popular than American Idol.. a lot more controversy.. you will see! And I know that in his heart, he prefer Cheryl than Nicole as a judge because he try so bad to convince her to come back.

I love this show. So happy that Simon and Paula are back on TV together they are TV gold. LA Reid is awesome too. Neither Cheryl or Nicole are great but the forth judge is mostly eye candy but needs good chemistry with the other judges. Cheryl has a better Personality than Nicole but doesn’t fit in well with the others, doesn’t have US success, and having her on the show makes it too British with Simon and Steve. Nicole is annoying but far more talented than Cheryl, has US success, American, and work better with the other judges. That’s why Nicole is there and Cheryl is gone because the overall chemistry of the show is more important than the Personality of one judge. I don’t think Nicole will last more than one season either she just a seat holder until they find someone better.

I hate the new painel. Is they replace Paula for cheryl, maybe I watch…but, without cheryl? No way!

  16. Royalkev September 22, 2011

I just thought the show was awful. It was filled with so many gimmicks and moments that didn’t seem genuine. Simon came across very phony and way too nice. It was so out of character for him, unless he turned over a new leaf (and I’m not buying that). L.A. Reid was just trying to be the rebellious one. The one black girl who he kept protesting angainst (after being out numbered when everyone voted yes and sent her through) was becoming annoying. It’s one thing for him not to care for her, but why was he trying to sway Simon. Paula was just over dramatic as usual. Then all of them falling in love with that guy at the end and giving him standing O, like he was this phenomenal talent was just so over done. I found the show painful to watch and I won’t be any longer.

This was painful to watch. ‘The Voice’ is definitely a step in the right direction and it brought about some welcomed change to what has become absolutely stale. X Factor is just Idols… with the only exception being that my grandmother can participate.

S/N: Is it me or are a lot of people on the whole UK artist bandwagon (Duffy, Adele, mostly Adele)…but then again who can blame them when people like Rihanna and co. are polluting the airwaves.

“I’m dying to see what the rating going to be like next week”

    (By your command..)

“The big “X Factor” premiere last night fell way short of Simon Cowell’s expectations — earning just over half the ratings “American Idol” got during its premiere in January.”
    tmz(dotcom)/2011/09/22/x-factor-american-idol-ratings-simon-cowell-tv-paula-abdul/

” The X Factor’s 4.2 adults 18-49 rating and 12.14 million viewers was nowhere close to Idol and well short of Modern Family’s 6.0 adults 18-49 rating and 14.3 million viewers. A few have e-mailed to say the comparisons between X Factor and Idol are unfair, and while that is perhaps true, those comparisons were inevitable with Simon, Paula and a lot of promotion.”

Me, personally?! Well, I’d be happy to see L.A. Reid terminated! And I’m just aching for 30-Something-Year-Old Kelly Rowland to “officially” “brick-and-mortar” retail-release “Here I am” in the U.K.
..You see, if truth be told, it WAS/IS ALREADY released by Amazon U.K. amazon(dotcodot)uk/Here-I-Am-Kelly-Rowland/dp/B0055CJ8T2

..Long-story short? Well, “U.K. Rowdogs” aren’t exactly…(wait)…(wait)..”MOTIVATED” to “Crash Amazon Servers” on their way to making their purchase! Here’s proof: http://www.theofficialcharts(dotcom)/albums-chart/ <– "Here I'm am"(NOT)..!!

I enjoyed these clips. Terrel is hot, even if he is gay. I wish they wouldn’t have put John Lindall through because we do not need another Justin Bieber. The two standouts for me was Terrel Carter and Marcus Canty.

  25. Aryo September 23, 2011

this show is AWSOM as long as cheryl is not there, so happy they kicked her out, GO XFACTOR

It seem like Simon is trying way too much. It not REAL anymore .
I’m watching this because I love Simon’s comment but it changes him.
    He let almost everyone through.
BRING ME BACK THE SAME SIMON who always tell the sontestants who’s suck THAT THEY’RE SUCK.
