The fourth live show of X Factor 2011 aired tonight.
{For those unfamiliar with The X Factor, the show is the UK’s version of American Idol – with a twist in that groups and over 28’s are eligible to enter. Now in it’s seventh season, the show is responsible for birthing the careers of Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, and JLS. Its US incarnation launched last month on FOX}.

Given Kelly Rowland’s previously announced absence, tonight was always going to be one to watch. And with her stand-in Alexandra Burke watching, judging, and perhaps giving the most constructive feedback on the panel (we’re looking at you, Tulisa), the contestants by-and-large delivered.
Indeed, the likes of Misha B, Sophie, and Kitty really nailed their showings. All reaffirming why they deserve to go far in the competition (and in B and Sophie’s case, hopefully winning it too). The ladies of Little Mix also held their own. Clearly Girl Power ruled the roost.
Typically Frankie was garbage, while The Risk struggled in their first showing with new member Ashford.
With the live shows heading towards the mid-way point, tomorrow’s next contestant ousting should be interesting!
The X Factor continues on ITV1 tomorrow night at 8pm.

Alexandra was a good judge, better than kelly for sure… but hope kellys okay.

Kelly should take Nicole’s place on X Factor USA and Alexandra Burke should become a full-time judge on the X Factor UK. Love Alexandra she is fierce and was very honest. She said everything I was thinking about the contestants. The other judges are acting too nice and are being deceitful to the acts by not telling them what they are doing wrong. Alex was keeping it real and was constructive at the same time.
