With awards season soon to be in full swing, the 2012 People’s Choice Awards is on its way and the latest to unveil their list of nominations. With performances to be confirmed in coming weeks, the ceremony is set to be held at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater on January 11, 2012. FINALLY.A mainstream list that doesn’t favour anyone!!It actually looks fair.I didn’t expect any groundbreaking nominees, but they did justice to the usual nominated artists and put them in the right categories (well, a few exceptions, but still…)
I don’t remember exactly what I voted for, but I gave a bunch of votes to Christina for favorite pop and favorite female, I voted for HIAM and MLJ in song of the year, ‘Femme Fatale’ and ‘F.A.M.E.’ as albums of the year, Cee Lo and Chris Brown as favorite male artists and Lupe Fiasco, B.O.B. and Ludacris (I love the tone of his voice) as favortie hip hop artists.I don’t remember any of the other categories.I think I also voted for J Lo, Katy and maybe Beyonce, but I don’t remember in which category…

Actually only person who should win in the R & B field is Chris Brown, He had two #1′s and 4 top 10′s in the R & B, but I agree he may not win because Beyonce is well liked amongst the mainstream fans, they will pick her because of her name. Chris Brown dominated the BET awards this year, but most of the mainstream award shows is based on fan base and Chris doesn’t have all of his mainstream fans back.

Bruno Mars isn’t R & B I haven’t heard his songs on the urban station. He doesn’t even chart on the urban charts. It should be Chris Brown, R Kelly, Trey Songz, Neyo, Miquel, Beyonce, Jill Scott.

Ok so these nominations seem a bit suspect because I have never seen this many people in a category before in my damn life! People on twitter have been saying these are just the ‘pre’ nominations. Meaning, these are the people who are eligible and you have to go and vote for your fave and then the people with the most votes will be actual nominees. There is no way in hell there are gonna be these people in each category! It would take all fucking night to call out all the names! Geez!
Oh course I want my boy Breezy to be nominated and win as well, but right now I’m just to tired to really care about this. I’m actually surprised to say that I know most of the people nominated an I am sure the usual suspects will be nominated but we’ll see who actually wins. *shrugs*
I’m more interested to see who they are gonna get to perform…
