With her recent slew of promotional appearances and nationwide trek winning over fans and critics at every stop, ‘Jumping Trains’ conductress Jojo is finding herself on the right track for a comeback. Scheduled for an early 2012 release, the album, described by the singer as ‘pop with anger management problems’, has already treated fans to lead single ‘Disaster’.
But while fans await its accompanying visual, the title track from the album has made its way to the net. The emotional mid-tempo number hears the belter sing – ‘I can’t just be your girl/I need to see the world/If that’s something you can’t arrange/I’ll be jumping trains’.

The song sees Jojo surprisingly restrained, which in this case, is good. Such restraint plays to the strength of the harmonies and allows the emotion of the song to take center while she plays narrator. Some critics have called the song ‘boring’ because it, to great degree, lacks a “climax”. Again, in this case, where the song lacks build it compensates with overall delivery.
Single material? Maybe with the right video to capture the emotion of the song could work. But, given the reason for the album’s initial setback, at the rates these leaks are coming, Jojo may find herself having to jump on an entirely new album.

It’s a brilliant song. The vocal arrangement is so sick, the production is both retro and fresh, and the song is VERY well written (love the train metaphor all through it). It’s clearly not properly mastered yet though.

I love this song b/c of the words and I know it comes from the heart I can feel it, but I’m not sure this should be a single. I love jojo. I cannot wait for the album.
Lie to me and S*** to me are FAR BETTER to have been posted! I know Jumping Trains means a lot to JoJo and is the title track from the album, but the other two songs are more current and radio friendly, which sadly, is what she needs if she is going to get people (new listeners especially) to recognize her real artistry and music that I am sure is made very apparent within the material on this album.
Jumping trains is def not single material but i love it for the words and im glad she toned it down for at least one song and just give us a breeze of her vocals. I think jojo will do greaat. 🙂
this is an amazing song!!! in my opinion…some people will just say its BORING but its not!! this is what music is all about, REAL, song that u can relate. but i mean for music like this its been awhile we haven’t heard off. i’m a guy listening to this song i can like this cause i’ll be moving out soon i can really relate to this Track….i’m just saying listening to the WORDS the Lyrics!! that’s why i click on the “HIT” i’m tired listening same songs playing on the radio!!! its all about PARTY SONGS, which i don’t really like to hear while i’m driving!!! in the CLUB jumming YES, in the car NO!!

I think “Jumping Trains” is SO much more melodically appealing than “Disaster.” I disagree about the song not having a climax–the song has a satisfying climax at 2:31, albeit a later climax.
I love it and it shows off her voice.
I think her sound was better and more consistent for the album that was stalled and ultimately dropped, but I can hear bits & pieces of it in some of the newer songs.
It’s got to be really hard to cook up all these hot material for a new album, then to have your label throw you under the bus then turn around and all your hard work gets leaked therefore forcing you back to the studio to start over and not have a clue to where to start or having any creativity. I feel really bad by how she’s been treated.
Whether this could be a single or not, is very dependent on the visual. If this had an interesting video shot on a train, with scenes in a subway station, i could see it…

Jojo is an amazing artist! Very Underrated
JoJo is dope no doubt but this song concept is too out there and to me it never really makes a point or should I say not a good one. JoJo clearly needs better songs because the ones their putting out are too predictable and not interesting. I think artist should stop going after certain producers/writers and go after hit songs regardless of where they come from. Ron Fair is the man but whoever is A&Ring JoJo’s stuff isnt doing a good job. She’s looking amazing though.
Wouldn’t say it was boring, the vocal delivery and production is great but it could use a little more UMPH.

I looove it!!!! I can relate so much to this song. Just like JoJo says, it’s about moving on, transitionning from being a girl to a woman, or a t*** to an adult and this is where I am right now. What I love about JoJo is that she doesn’t do regular songs. There’s so much depth in this song and you can see that it really comes from the heart. Gosh I’m SOOOO mad at the people that are trying to destroy her career. She doesn’t deserve to be treated this way.
