Scandalous Bey is still way more interesting in her debut film than most people’s. Those that might want to single out Bey for being such a “bad actress” in the film might want to consider how bad the script and others actors in the film are as a whole. Still, this film was not meant to win any oscars, only entertain. Bey’s progression is very evident in her films that followed (i.e. Dream Girls, Cadillac Records)

Let’s be fair now, NO ONE’S acting in this was actually good. SMH the script itself was a damn mess to begin with. I can’t lie though, some of those songs used to stay stuck in my head haha

I have to appreciate Beyonce’s hustle. In my opinion, she is a great performer. I would say her performances give life to her music. Without, some of her performances and music videos, her music would just be subpar. I have heard a lot of people agree with me on that. She is definitely repping Houston to the fullest though. Her acting skills are just average to me though, nothing special. I would have to say of all the Destiny Child girls, LeToya Luckett acts the best, she was very good in, “Preacher’s Kid!” But perhaps Beyonce will get better, and get that Oscar after all, only time will tell.

She can’t act to save her life!!!! Lol. By the same token though, this was when I really liked her the most. There was just something different about her then. She’s not the same anymore. I know that we all grow and change as we get older. But, in my opinion, Bey didn’t change for the better. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but she’s a completely different person now. She seem like she was mad cool back in the day.

I see that people are dropping the same old tired lines. She is a better actress than most of these other musicians. I loved her in this, Gold Member and Cadillac Records (good acting by any standard…even critics agree). So all you thirsty h*** need to SIT.
She cannot act. Props to her as a singer, performer, but not an actress. She alwsys just covers up her bad acting with singing. And @ PAM she gets role because she is a brand they can use. Not because she can act. A film with beyonce in will sell more than a film with an unkmown talented actress in. And jennifer hudson is the best actress who was a singer 🙂

I agree this is also when I liked beyonce…she was so humble(at least I thought) and promising,anyway I looooved this movie even if the acting was subpar,to be honest I think beyonce was better in this than she was in absurd…I mean obsessed. I love the song with bey and mehki in the bedroom and the tarot reading with wyclef, bey had me about to cry when she keep saying “no NO NO NO! I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna go!”
