Exclusive: Rihanna Readies ‘You Da One’ Video

Published: Thursday 10th Nov 2011 by Sam

Rihanna‘s latest fast food hit ‘We Found Love’ clearly hit the spot of the masses after it topped many a chart globally a few weeks back. However, in perhaps knowing that she must keep the pace going to avoid irrelevancy, the popular model is already getting ready to shoot the video for its follow up – ‘You Da One’.

Exclusive details after the jump…

Speaking to That Grape Juice and select media outlets at the exclusive UK playback of ‘Talk That Talk’, Jay Brown of ROC Nation revealed that the 23 year old is set to shoot the visual for the Dr Luke produced cut here in London within the next few weeks.

And while a director is not yet etched in stone, Brown announced that Melina -who is most noted for her work with Beyonce – is likely to take the title.

Keep it locked on That Grape Juice for a FULL REVIEW of ‘Talk That Talk’ before the week’s end.

  3. Money. Power. Respect November 10, 2011

Why does Rihanna want to work with Melina? Why set yourself up for that drama again? “Rude Boy” was one of Rihanna’s best videos during the Rated R era, but come to find out Melina jacked the entire concept from M.I.A.. Melina copy and pasted the last video, and she’s going to do the same thing this time around.

one thing I will say about rihanna she is INVENTIVE. And different.

    She leads and others follow.

im not hating on Beyonce but she has never lead a trend in her life — k maybe when she was in Destinys child, i’ll give her that.

Try and argue it – cos i’d love to hear of all the time Beyonces has paved the way….. i’ll be waiting.

  7. Yc18 November 10, 2011

If she’s still around she will be on her 13th album at 30 yeats old, that says alot. Her new album is lackluster, it seems rushed. Mary will be #1. Can’t wait until Ciara’s album, it will be Rihanna who?

People are saying that Rihanna is so different and creative…..however I remember there once was a pop starlet by the name of MADONNA! Now Madonna is best known for selling s** and her fashion, that is how she became famous…I dare someone to challenge this!…Now years later, a pop starlet by the name of Rihanna graces our tv screen, selling s**, amazing fashion, and yet people have the nerve to call her original and different?!?…She is merely doing what others have done before her, not depending on talent alone to make her famous so she comes with lots of gimmicks. To those who disagree, let’s go back to when she first came out……*sips tea*

  10. Dingdong November 10, 2011

Damn…ya’ll haters always have beyonce on yo mind even if da post have nufin 2 do wit her.

  11. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) November 10, 2011

OK…just WAIT a second.Dr Luke??Melina??Aren’t they both played out already.Doesn’t she or her team care about the fact that those 2 have both creatively stalled??The only thing they can give her is re-hashes of their oldest successes and rip-offs of current hits 🙄 The whole mainstream is just a boring ass mess.Same producers, same directors, same songwriters, same concepts even same songs 😮 🙄 If only she could go back to ‘RR’…Even ‘Loud’ was better than ‘TTT’, at least it had something going on, a fresh energy. a good vibe…

  12. Layana Lewis November 10, 2011

B**** Please. You insist on churning out albums every consecutive year without fail, and now, after the slight disapointment of ‘LOUD’, we have a depressingly dire attempt to recapture the ‘Dance Euphoria’ and add a ‘Rihanna twist’ to it.
Why is she so afraid to take longer to work on an album? Rihanna isn’t going to fade into obscurity, I mean, look at ‘Rated R’. There was a two year break in between her previous album, and that time off, including the Chris Brown incident, gave her immense inspiration to make an album that actually meant something, and I believe it’s her best to date.
So wait and learn Rih, and you’ll actually create something credible and worth listening to.

Im ready to hear it, i will say this. i LOVE beyonce and cant get enough of her ever.
I love rihanna too, its just i get sick of rihanna songs way fast… but she comes out with new ones real fast too.. so im not mad.

i stan for beyonce, beyonce only.
but i enjoy other artist, idk why you all act like you dont. smh.
So much f****** hate, just listen to the music and enjoy, dont like it then DONT listen to it again hahaha, not that hard right,

  14. KERRON November 10, 2011

Rihanna is wonderful, it’s good to see a young girl who is not American being so popular, and i am an American but theres a lost famous people here. Rihanna has something special thats why she has so much success, no matter what people think of her, the girl is lovely, very smart, she has a great personality and her voive is so catchy, Yes! We Love U Rihanna.

  17. Silly H*** are Blinded November 10, 2011

She is gonna wear out her welcome, but I guess not because people said “We Found Love” was rushed and Its #1. I don’t like Rihanna but mami is doing SOMETHING right. Even THOUGH he lacks talent and skills she is flying off the shelves so do it B****, work it! (I stan Gaga)

  18. JER November 10, 2011

ThatFLOPJuice stay pressed on Rihanna. And stop trying to make “microwave fastfood” happen. IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! You’re in the minority. And as a gay, black man you should be ashamed for all the dissension you cause people. IF ANYONE cranks out fastfood music it is your fav, BeYAWNce. Recorded D-day in 2 weeks? “Wrote” 50 songs for I Am… Sucha Farce. Rrecorded over 70 songs for 4lop. Yeah that’s not fastfood at all. Yal act like BIONCI is James Brown or something

  19. blazinyella November 10, 2011

  25. S*** (U MAD?) November 10, 2011

    & HER MUSIC IS GENERIC…

    POINT. BLANK. PERIOD!

Shes just all GOOD MARKETING & Gimmick, from the Wig Changes to the RUSHED out trendy albums!

I LIKE Rihanna & her TEAM is the s*** but her stans are enuff to make you want to Punch some COMMON SENSE into. Shes just LUCKY. Lol, they give her WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT 😆

Shes not on Beys LEVEL in any sense of the word.

Instead, Compare her to her PEERS… CACA, Skatty Perry, Kesha, Nicki Minaj Etc.

In this case, she DOES S*** on them & IS slaying. 😉

  26. dreamlover November 10, 2011

yall whores are jealous because your faves are overexposed and people are tired of them even though they have released half the amount of albums than Rihanna has. You need to take several seats because at this point, criticizing Rihanna is just plain stupidity. She is highly successful, smashing the charts (BOTH SINGLES AND ALBUMS), selling out tours, getting those endorsements – and best of all, she is giving the fans what they want; MUSIC. She is 23 only so obviously she’s not going to sing Susan Boyle type of songs and I am confident Rihanna serves us with some material with substance despite the reviews so far stating the album is very s**-oriented. Even so, s** is good, s** is fine – YOU exist because of s**; S** is life, so why shouldn’t be celebrate it? Damn society and people with that so-called “dignity” making s** something to be ashamed of. We should be ashamed of our communities; Look at Latin-America. A lot of societies there embrace s**, and it isn’t that big of a deal there (as in that they are more open about it).

PS. Stop clowning all day and night trying to find some hateful comments to write in any Rihanna post. The only argument you use, is her lack of stage presence and the fact that she doesn’t have a number one album. My tea: she has improved, and she still is – she is only 23, god damn it! And even if YOU think she’s a terrible performer, millions of other people disagree – that based only on her tour sells. I’d rather have an album that doesn’t debut at number one but sells 9 million or 6 million (GGGB and LOUD) than have a number one album struggling to reach the 2 million mark worldwide (FAME, 4, femme fatale)

  27. JohnVidal November 10, 2011

    @RICHANDBLACK11
Sorry but the two hardest working women in music history for the longest time are Madonna and Mariah Carey without a doubt (without stop album after album, innovating, giving their lives 100% for 30 and 21 years)
And yeah, Rihanna doesn´t work hard. It is all made for her. Only work is putting some goat vocals in a few generic songs given to her. And even if she worked hard, it still wouldn´t matter cos she has not talent

  28. invisible_cunt November 10, 2011

    over-exposed talentless studio puppet…

  29. JohnVidal November 10, 2011

    @invisible_cunt
    On point description 🙂

  30. lax November 10, 2011

@Haters,,,,,,I don’t give a fu*k what you think or say about “Our Rihanna”.
and some of us really do have to work for a living, you know.

  31. PETRA November 10, 2011

WHY WOULD YOU EVEN WANT TO ATTEND THE LISTENING PARTY OF SOMEONE YOU DESPISE SO MUCH???

ARE YOU HONESTLY SAYING YOU DON’T LIKE EVEN ONE RIHANNA SONG, DESPITE COUNTLESS UK NUMBER 1s FROM A SO-CALLED JUNK FOOD ARTIST?

IF SO, YOU’VE GOT TO BE THE ONLY ONE ON THE PLANET – HIGHLY UNLIKELY SO JUST GIVE UP THE GHOST AND GIVE PROPS WHERE THEY’RE DUE, SAM.

YOU AIN’T FOOLIN’ NO ONE BUT YOURSELF.

WE ALL KNOW THE ONLY REASON YOU PROCLAIM TO HATE HER AND HER MUSIC SO MUCH IS BECAUSE YOUR ARCH-ENEMY TOYA LOVES HER.

SAD, CHILDISH AND PA-THET-IC TO THE NTH DEGREE.

  32. jamir21 November 10, 2011

    @ Petra

I was hoping this album would be good, but after listening to the samples, it sounds like a mess. She’s hungry for #1 songs. And now she can’t be put in the r&b category, so noone can compare her to Bey. And Bey does mature good music.

  35. Brett Coles November 11, 2011

WOW y’all all over analyze everything way too much and it’s so funny how this article is about Rihanna but all you can seem to do is bring up Bey and GaGa
Rihanna is doing her own thing and to who ever wrote about Madonna – Rihanna is doing the same sort of thing just bringing it up to 2011 shes still original with her style and content!

    Peace out
