  3. Laurie November 28, 2011

Tamar girl you’re voice is the bomb wow great voice but her moves are all over the place she just need to tone it down a little bit lool and she’s not the right person to make a tribute she’s to full of herself lool

What, a show were every one sang lived and sounded good! Those were some good performances, but i have some questions:
1). When will Prodigy (giving me Beyonce and Justin) be 18? (i have time, I’ll wait for him)
2). What the hell was that concept for the “Fool For You” performance, they all looked like fools so maybe that was the idea of it?
3). Why is Marsha’s waist getting bigger but not her career? ( i love her so much and i don’t mind her getting back to thickness, I just mad that ppl don’t recognize her genius more)
4). Do you think King Bey peeped Tamar’s performance and thought, “Finally, a chick who might be some actual competition…”

If people or always harping on acts that should not be and act that is the best and all of the other acts should pack it up and go bak where they came from is any indication of what time it is than i wonder what do the haters think that the new acts coming to the stage is suppossed to do????Many or always downing others because Old Whats his name and Whats her name Did it better Wellllllllllll For debate is i wonder why is it that i along with countless Others Love MINDLESS BEHAVIOR THEY Are young, handsome, hot and on the rise. I just wonder if theres people who or mad because they or still perfecting their craft just like RIHANNA IS DOING I JUST WONDER IF PEOPLE WANT THEM TO DO THE DISSAPEARING ACT LIKE THEY OR ALWAYS TALKING SMACK TO AND ABOUT RIH RIH. aND I SURE DO WONDER IF A BLOGGER SCREEN NAME: JEFFREE AKA R****** HATER THINKS THAT THERE WILL NEVER BE ANY MORE GREAT ACTS BESIDE BEYONCE, MARIAH AND MANY OF THE OTHER ARTIST WHO CAME BEFORE THESE YOUNGER ACTS CAME ALONG, DAM WOOD HEAD CHICKEN NEEDS TO ADMIRE THEM ALL AND LOVE THE ONE YOIU OR WITH AND STOP TRYING TO TEAR ONE ARTIST DOWN TO UP ANOTHER ARTIST WHO ALREADY HAVE GOT IT MADE IN THE SHADE. JUST LET THE NEW COMERS DO THEIR THING AND LET THEM KEEP RIGH ON CRUSING TILL THEY GET ENOUGH JUST LIKE THOSE WHO CAME ON THE SCENE BEFORE THEIR FAVE DID.

@Lax You just love you some rihanna reign. lol

  7. BeyStan November 28, 2011

Tamar was all over the place. With some grooming she actually will be very good.

  8. JoArmy November 28, 2011

Tamar’s Performance wasn’t that bad but with a lil more training and probably experience she would be really good.

  9. marlin6 November 28, 2011

The last vid has Bebe Winans and Gladys Knight. Huh, thought he died already after his and Cece’s last cd.

  10. marlin6 November 28, 2011

Boooorrring, notice it’s the same people in the audience as in all black/BET award shows? WTF is that. Their seats are reserved or something, lol.

  11. skintightjeans November 28, 2011

Gladys Knight is so gracious because she was smiling all through Tamar Braxton’s performance to not let the baby feel bad but she and everybody else knew that Tamar’s performance was a no.com. B**** flinging her weave like she Beyonce and her dress was too much for a TRIBUTE. Opportunistic, over the top b****. Can’t stand her ghetto ass. B**** will NEVER, and I mean, NEVER be Beyonce and you can tell the baby wants to be her so bad. Aim a little lower Tamar like Monica or Tierra Marie….they are more your speed.

  12. YOOSONDALOOSE November 28, 2011

    They were all good!
    Where was Tamar?

  13. Muffy223 November 28, 2011

That was by far THE most boring STA show in its history. Aside from EWF & Morris Day/Time the most exciting performer was Lloyd and I’d never even heard of him b4 the show. C’mon Soul Train, u owe us so much better.

  14. thetruth.com November 28, 2011

I think the fans and haters were hyped for a blowout performance from Tamar, but it just wasn’t that type of performance. She was ok, which is fine. However, just a couple of things…

1). That Gladys tribute was not the right act for Tamar’s talent. Tamar has the ability to shut it down behind the mic. I understand Tamar doesn’t want her career channeling Whitney Houston. But she would have been memorable if she had focussed more on the voice last night, instead of whatever it was that she was doing on the stage.

2). A PR coach is desperately needed. Retweeting 20 stan tweets about how great she was, when the overall consensus was it was an OK performance at best, is not the way to show you are a serious artist. Retweet a handful of positive tweets, and then graciously thank all the other supporters. I say this because no amount of retweeting over the top reaching tweets is going to change what we all heard which was mediocrity!

3). And finally, sometimes less is more – when you do too much, it can undermine your real talent.

I will be buying Tamar’s new CD regardless. And I hope everyone else gives her another chance. She is a great talent!

  15. TheMan4u November 28, 2011

I agree, thats why i wish tamar had a song where she could just stand there and sing, her moving/dancing was a distraction last night

  16. No November 28, 2011

A Glady’s Knight Tribute without Soul! That’s exactly what Soul Train gave us. Where were the sultry soul voices for Glady’s??? Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, MJB??? Even Monica’s interview was more heart and soulfelt than that those tribute performances. #F

  17. NY-Superstar November 28, 2011

This years show was a complete let down after two great shows I was a little dissapointed. They need to really attract bigger stars and why did Jill Scott not perform. Mary should have been there…Ledisi….I was kinda bored this year sorry. Tamar’s should not have performed for Gladys.

Tamar’s performance was heinously awful.net…instead of trying to be Beyonce, she should’ve been doo-wop pop poppin’ to Gladys Knight’s song and stay in key.

Marsha Ambrosius has won my vote for the most annoying live vocals in today’s R&B music. Keyshia Cole should be glad that someone is worse than she. That Gladys Knights tribute was a disgrace and deserved a do-over. I apologize to Ms. Knight on behalf of Soul Train, Centric, BET, Tamar, Chrisette Michele and Marsha Ambrosius.

Miguel slurred all the words of his performance. I guess he thought that jumping all over the auditorium would overshadow that…not!

  20. Nopes November 28, 2011

At first I always hated American Idol because white people always won!, I thought that couldn’t be possible, but after seeing this black award show and the poor quality of black people performing live now I see, TAMAR was horrible, she couldn’t even control her breathing during her performance, not like she was doing real dance moves like Chris Brown, Ciara, or Beyonce does, she was just moving side to side and sound like she just ran a mile. I just saw Chrisette Michele and Marsha Ambrosius sing for Anita Baker and Pattie Labelle’s tribute, and once again, theydidn’t do anything special vocally. damn, cant BET find some other people who can sang, CEE_LO was prob the best performer of the evening.
And Natalie Cole, was HORRIBLE!!!! her voice is gone and she is too damn old to be wearing a dress like that with her flap jack tits and her nasty looking arms damn!

  21. key1 November 28, 2011

Can we please stop with the Beyonce crap people. Beyonce copies and was inspired by those before her, so lets stop with making her higher than everyone. The media has really gotten to a lot of you. Grow up.

  22. dezi November 29, 2011

@Nopes So all black singers deserve to get dragged and pulled because a handful of other black singers performed poorly and couldn’t deliver a proper tribute to gladys? GTFOH! It is blacks who white people and others so desperately try to sound like. As for american idol that is a white based show mostly watched by white america – they let a handful of blacks win WOOPTY DOO! Which was the plan TO AVOID FROM BEING CALLED a BIASED – RACIST SHOW – they haven’t been fair since jordan sparks – so i don’t know why you would hate a white based show followed by a huge massive white audience (which i think you are totally bullshitting) you just wanted to drag blacks. You can just GTFOH! Stirring up s*** – you just needed to find some kind of away to throw s*** at black singers – you still lose.

  23. Independent Thinker November 29, 2011

If anything, Tamar was channeling her big sister Toni. She may have been giving you Beyonce style wise with that tacky blonde weave and that god-awful hideous peach tutu she was trying to pass off as a dress, but in terms of her performance, she sounded like the soprano version of a less polished, less sophisticated Toni Braxton.

  24. The Truth November 29, 2011

    Sighhhhhhhhhhhh smh BET BET BET!

Last year’s show was MUCH better. This year was a MESS

ALL the tributes were BAD. Well.. actually Heavy D tribute was cool but could have been better.

Poor Gladys Knight had that fake smile on her face through Tamar, Chrisette and Marsha. Then finally she got to really enjoy it when Mary Mary sang.

Gladys Knight AND Earth Wind and Fire deserve better!

Why didn’t Jill Scott perform? She was there!

Where is the Earth Wind and Fire tribute video?

  25. josh November 29, 2011

first and last time i watch this award show.
HORRIBLE SINGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cee lo green was prob the best of the night and i REALLY dont like him…

It was painful to watch, but i just couldnt look away…
    bad award show!

Congrats to all the winners tho!!
Glad bey and kelly got one <3

  26. Ineedtohearyousing November 30, 2011

Nopes, please don’t compare Beyonce’s dancing to Ciara’s…vocals is one thing; but dancing, REALLY? Nooo, lol :/

  27. Shanda_girl December 2, 2011

Marsha Ambrosius was the worst performer of the night.. Why do they always have to get her for a tribute and she always does terrible. Chrisette Michele was not good either especially when she screamed in the middle.. Mary Mary was the best one to preform in the Gladys night tribute.. Tamar needs a little more practice, but loved your voice.
Robin Thick , Cee_lo and Melanie Fiona were the best performers of the night. Eric Bene” Did his thing in Earth Wind and Fire tribute…..Morris Day and the Tyme did not do to bad. They just to old to be trying to do a come back.
    I disagree with Dezi, Soul
train is not a racist show and neither is American Idol. I love it and watcit all the time. How did Fantasia and Ruben win if its a racist show.
why was Robin Thick on Soul Train its for R and B, and rap music. Music with soul look that word up. Of Course they would not have country on a soul show its call Soul Train not country or rock train..

But to make a long story short I loved the Show but stop letting Marsha do Tributes….That messes the hold show up.

  28. Brutallyhonest December 4, 2011

Why do they keep bringing Marsha Ambrosius on these shows to do tributes? She ruined a Teena Marie song last year and sounded damn awful trying to sing a Gladys Knight song! She sounds like a choking goat! Kinda like Rihanna. They could’ve brought Stephanie Mills on there to sing the tributes!! Better yet they need to honor HER as well!! Natalie looked good considering she had been ill. She still needed to calm down the cleavage though. Even though her vocals weren’t what they used to be, she sounded better than the other so-called artists that were trying to sing to Gladys. The group Mindless Behavior is exactly that. The vocals were mindless, but the children can dance. They should just be a dancing act. I have never seen so many young so-called artists that really cant sing in all my life. And who dresses and tries to sing like Michael anymore? Please. The Original Seven sounded good. Cee Lo? I cant stand to look at the guy, much less hear him sing. I hope next year they get REAL talent to perform.
