Watch: Mary J. Blige Readies Live VEVO Concert

Published: Wednesday 16th Nov 2011 by Rashad

Mary J. Blige is getting closer to the November 21st release of ‘My Life II:  The Journey Continues’ – the sequel to the 1994 catapult that launched her into superstardom.  Known to most as the ‘Queen of Hip-Hop Soul’ (due in great part to the prequel), its safe to say all eyes are on this second chapter and oh-na-na what’s her name to see who will emerge victorious from the diva showdown.

To whet appetites of her ever-faithful fans and followers, Blige has teamed up with the legendary Adam Shankman  and American Express for UNSTAGED – a live collection of the diva’s greatest hits (and a few gems from the forthcoming album).

Set for stream live on Vevo tomorrow night, November 17, Mary lets fans in on what they can expect from the album and the live showing after the jump:

While some will argue Blige’s absence on Billboard’s upper half preceding the album’s release will not work to her favor, such has never been a condition to count the ‘I’m Going Down’ diva out.  Given that her last 3 albums – bar ‘The BreakThrough’ – performed considerably well minus single charts successes, fans and competitors have long learned that this quarter is Mary J’s time of year.  Alas, only time will tell how this plays out.

Catch Mary J. tomorrow night live on VEVO at 11PM ET/8PM PT.  As ever, keep it locked to That Grape Juice for your first look at the concert.

    Mary J is so much better than Beyonce. Which explains why my girl Rih has took her place. Great performance by the way. 😉

    I have been requesting her music .. to no avail.. I really hope Mr. Wrong takes off.. That has so much potential to be #1.. (“F” clear channel and iheart ) .. anyway with or without radio and Billboard success..
    I believe Mary J will still be #1 .. Rihanna will have really good sales as well .. But Mary J hands down #1 .. But she better slay the performance at the AMA’s !!!! For Real ..

    @G4L Girl

    Girl have several seats! Rihanna Will NEVER replace Beyonce. Beyonce has #1 albums,#1 singles,#1movies,#1DVDS,Success world Tours(100mil+),#1 perfumes and endorsements deals(beauty cosmetic contracts). Things Rihanna has yet to accomplish and will never have.
