will.i.am Announces New Solo Album

Published: Thursday 17th Nov 2011 by Sam

“If at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again”

This seems to be a mantra will.i am has embraced, for the hitmaker has announced he is to release another solo album.

Some may remember the Black Eyed Peas star’s first bid at singular stardom, 2008’s ‘Songs About Girls’, which bombed in quite spectacular fashion upon released. Indeed, the set debuted at #38 and sold just 21,000 copies in its first week on sale.

In the four years since then, the producer has gone on to amass a successful body of work with other artists; success, we’re sure rebuilt his confidence to launch a chart assault on his own accord now the Pea’s are on hiatus.

Find out more about his sophomore set, and its accompanying lead single, after the jump…

Titled ‘#willpower’, the album will arrive in stores next year via Interscope/Universal, and is preceded by the Jennifer Lopez assisted single ‘T.H.E (The Hardest Ever)‘.

The pair will take to the stage at this Sunday’s American Music Awards to premiere the song live, with the Dallas Austin/ Audiobot produced cut hitting iTunes immediately after.

Prior to then, though, we want to know…

Are you checking for will.i.am solo?

Songs About Girls was a pretty good album. Better than anything BEP has released since reforming and going all dancey with meaningless lyrics. BRING BACK ELEPHUNK!

The Aaliyah quote >>>> all the information about his album 😛 Great article just for the ‘Try Again’ lyrics. Thanks Sam 😀

Anyway, Will.I.Am used to be an amazing producer but his work lately is just an overproduced repetitive confusing mess.He just takes himself too seriously as a producer and he doesn’t give a damn about the artist, he just drops a loud (sloppy and messy) beat and destroys good melodies. If he keeps it simple, if he goes back to basics and finds his creativity without overanalyzing and overdoing, then I’ll be checking for him 😎 However, he’s a VERY weak “rapper” so a solo album from him is not a very good idea 😳
