As a former child star herself, Janet Jackson has often cited her early introduction into the world of show business as being the route cause of her long running battle with depression.
Now, in response to the news that her niece Paris has landed her very first movie role at the age of 13, the ‘Miss You Much‘ maestra has weighed in on the situation.
Her thoughts below…
Speaking to Access Hollywood, she explained:
I got into the business at a young age. It’s not an easy thing.
Your childhood.you completely lose and I didn’t get to experience that, so she has the rest of her adult life to be that actress that she wants to be and I told her that.
Adding:
I’m excited for her, but it worries me a little bit. Yeah, I wish that she would maybe wait.
Her comments arrive after the young Jackson took to ‘The Ellen Show‘ to unveil her plans to become a director and discuss how life has changed since the passing of her father Michael Jackson.

Young Jackson should wait and so should Willow. children needn’t be thrusted into the dog-eat-horse world of showbiz. it may seem all red carpet and freebies on the outside. the cons are rooted deep within. i mean, it’s a different thing when you’re on a tv show or just a no-name child actor hired to play just that but to begin pursuing a career full throttle at a tender age ….. pls listen to Jodie Foster.

I agree with Janet, your childhood is the best and most important part of your life and I think it also shows how close she is/was to her brother Michael because I know he would also give his daughter that same advice.

A True Icon to another upcoming Icon. Paris knows that if MJ was still here, he wouldnt let her act now at a very young age. He too also expressed how he wants his kids to have a childhood compare to what he had.
