With a career spanning almost two decades, there is no denying the impact Beyonce has made on Pop culture and music alike.
So, in honor of her wide reaching work, her hometown- Houston, Texas- is to build a monument in her honor, months after giving birth to her first child, Blue Ivy.
Details below…
With proceeds from the statue in aid of several charitable causes, which includes supporting victims of Hurricane Katrina, the monument will be erected by Armdeonce Ventures , in partnership with the city which was once home to Knowles and her family.
Set to be complete by the year’s end, each of the project’s sponsors and donors will receive an invitation its unveiling ceremony, which the star herself is reported to attend.

A statue by itself is lunacy, pure unadulterated lunacy, but if it’s a museum then theyre likely doing it in hopes of increasing tourism which hopefully they can then put into their troubled education system or other issues. So people are donating to create this statue/ museum? What kind of cheapness is that? Since she’s their inspiration and they want to honor her shouldn’t the state be able to create this without donations??
Also…the leftover money goes to other charities? Priorities indeed.

Honestly, Beyonce is one of the few current artist thats truly worthy of these type of honors. If I was from Texas I would be so proud of her coming from my hometown. I’m just proud of her in general. She’s extremely talented, extremely hard – working and extremely humble. My heart sometimes go out to her for having to deal with so many people that envy her and obsess over her at the same time. Then I stop and think of how much I admire her grace. She’s never lashing out at people, she’s never bitter or angry. She understands human nature and how people that aren’t happy with themselves deal with others like herself. It’s like she doesn’t hold it against them. If anything seeing someone live life the way she does not only motivates you to live your dreams, but it actually inspires you to not feed into the petty thing that people go crazy over. Beyonce’s a beautiful, accomplished woman with an outstanding career and incredible talent. I’m thankful that artist like her are around SAVING THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.

Beyonce don’t deserve a statue that honor is saved for Icons or entertainers that die too young Thomasville Georgia doesn’t even have a statue of it’s beloved screen icon Joanne Woodward though she’s never really made a huge public specticle of herself as Beyonce has or huntington long island doesn’t have a statue of Mariah Carey yet. besides to be even considered for the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame you have to be around for 25 years which means Destiny’s Child has 11 more years before they are eligible while for example Mariah becomes eligible in 2015 as her debut album was released in 1990 or Paula Abdul becomes eligible next year as her debut album was released in June 1988 though alot of artists don’t get in on their first year of eligiability Stevie Nicks for example isn’t in as a Solo Artist yet though she’s been eligible for 6 years her debut solo album Bella Donna was released July 27th 1981 though she’s in as a member of Fleetwood Mac though with Fleetwood Mac she had only been a member 23 years when they were inducted right her and Lindsey Buckingham had joined on new years day 1975 and the induction ceremony was March 18th 1998
