On February 14th, Nicki Minaj‘s sophomore album ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ was set to hit stores worldwide.
Now, in an unexpected turn of events, the Rapper has pushed the LP’s release date back, announcing the news online minutes ago.

New Album Date: April 3rd. Pink Friday: ROMAN RELOADED. But have no fear. Tons of surprises before then

Sure to rub some sects of her fan base the wrong way, this news comes hours after her latest video ‘Stupid Hoe‘ emerged here.
Let’s hope that this new date will see Team Minaj tighten up their promo to ensure the LP generates the attention it needs to move big units, out sell any major competitors and take any of its supporting singles to #1.

I expected this. Nicki was not ready for Feb. 14 release. Nothing was in place for such a quick release. She billed Stupid Hoe and Roman In Moscow as buzz singles, but that wouldn’t leave anytime for VVV anytime to get the singles treatment. Besides, people would have confused the buzz singles as actual singles, which wouldn’t have been received well.
Pushing it to April 3 was a good idea. This allows her to build up the correct hype. Superbowl, Grammy, Buzz Singles/Videos, and more! The only thing I worry about is the upcoming competition. The biggest benefit for a Feb. release was the limited competition.
With Pink, Ke$ha, No Doubt, Usher, and Madonna coming out soon there will be some heat in the kitchen. And I’m putting my eggs in Pink and Ke$ha’s basket.
