First- How in the fuck is this song still #1 for another week? Hasn’t it slid down the itunes chart? Granted it’s still popular on radio but isn’t a songs position on the chart determined by it’s airplay AND digital sales?

Great feat but the song still sucks. Half of the song is empty anyways. Most of the song is the beat playing. The rest of the list has substance. I see Ashanti and Beyonce up there.
Congrats though. Props given where due. Whether we agree with it or not and maybe even question if it’s deserved due to the current standings of the industry and the way chart placements are achieved, she still managed to accomplish it and it will be a part of billboard history.

Well this is a proud day for the Navy. I have to congratulate Rih.
I understand that this is a major accomplishment for Rihanna, but for someone who has been at #1 on the Hot100 chart 11 times it’s a bit odd that she’s never had a #1 stay on top for 10 weeks before. This girl really took her time joining the 10 + week club. I still think the song is atrocious, but I’m just glad to see that it’s not any trickery going on to keep her at #1… That’s an even bigger accomplishment because Rih #1 singles are usually discounted, have her thrown in as a feature on somebody else’s song or have an even bigger diva (Britney) adding some weight to the single’s hype. This is truly a step up.
