Watch: Ashanti Unveils First ‘The Woman You Love’ Live Performance

2012 is gearing up to be a big year for a certain Ashanti Douglas.  Already inciting a bevy of buzz for her Busta Rhymes-assisted comeback single ‘The Woman You Love’, she is finding herself amid a highly anticipated return to radio and charts alike.  Undoubtedly hoping to make more of a statement on the tally than her latest LP ‘The Declaration’, Douglas has taken matters into her own hands with the creation of her own company Written Entertainment.

To get things rolling, the starlet has started her own mini-promotional push for the record.  Lending the live treatment at B.B. King Blues Club in NYC recently to the soon-to-be-hit, as well as a few other fan favorites, see Miss Douglas doing what she does best after the jump:

Thanks AshantiDaily!

She didn’t even sing she talked the lyrics and danced, laughed and made the audience sing her song. That’s not performing. I don’t think she can sing either.

  18. YOOSONDALOOSE January 18, 2012

Love Ashanti, but she barely sung and just stood there jumping most of the time. That was not a good performance, leave these crap clubs and get promoting on TV.

  19. kimberly January 18, 2012

@ truthteller when i last checked you just described your favorite artist

  20. JAY January 18, 2012

YOU PEOPLE CLEARLY DON’T KNOW THE CLUB BUSINESS… EACH AND EVERY ARTIST DOES THIS, THIS WAS LABEL AS A PERFORMANCE, BUT THATS INCORRECT. MORE OF A CO HOST, THATS WHEN ARTIST HIT THE STAGE AND TALK TO THE CROWD, GET THEM HYPED, AND THEY’LL SING ALONG TO A FEW OF THERE SONGS… THIS IS CONSIDERED BETTER THAN A PERFORMANCE FOR ANY CLUB, I WANT CURSE ANY OF YOU, BUT PLEASE GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT AND STOP DISSING WHAT SHOULDN’T BE DISSED. SHE’S BACK, IF YOU DON’T LIKE HER, GO LOOK AT SOMEBODY ELSES YOUTUBE VIDEO.

  21. junior seven January 18, 2012

  23. BLAH January 18, 2012

YESSSSS @KIMBERLY ROFL! I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING LMAO @ HIM DESCRIBING HIS FAV FLOP ARTIST #EPICFAIL!

  24. Sasha January 18, 2012

As much as some of you claim to not like her , you sure scan the blogs looking for her name. It is always the same people making the comments. That is a lot of time spent on someone that you claim you do not like, Who does that? You so thirsty, you still drinking the kool-aid from when she first came on the scene. Sitting in a dark room over a computer, wearing out of shape sweat pants that have words that you wish described you written across your a**. Do youself a favor, turn off the computer, wash your a**, feed your kids, go outside into the fresh air and sunshine. STEP INTO THE LIGHT CAROLINE, DAMN!!!!!

  25. Sasha January 18, 2012

BTW, you can not MAKE an audience do anything. How old are you? never mind , you’re starting to bore me. Where are the @ashanti diehards ? Take over for me.

  26. Sasha January 18, 2012

    #TeamAshanti , handle these fools!! !

  27. Jay1 January 19, 2012

Well from the looks of it, the front row was semi hyped, but as the camera scanned you had a whole bunch of bored folks. Ashanti could have used that time, last minute or not to show case her talents, but she chose to bs for 8 minutes. I thought that she was cute during the Gotti/JaRule days. But this chicks boat has left the dock never to return. Longivity is the key in this game and most of the female artist coming out are only looking for a hit. Waiting to see what’s next for Ashanti.

  28. Sasha January 19, 2012

Lets be honest, the industry is geared toward the 15-25 year olds. If you don’t have meat hanging off you, or you have not threw up on stage, or kissed a girl, then you are not relevant. When Heavy D performed on tv for the last time you could see the younger ones in the audience just standing there not knowing what to do. maybe if he was tatted up with pants sagging and showing his draws he would have gotten their attention. My point is that the industry is gearing toward only one set of people. There are a lot of people who like music without the gimmicks.

  29. wilmerson January 19, 2012

Ashanti is an amazing singer and songwriter. She can sing unlike some other artists and she writes most of her songs and other peoples songs. I think she will continue to have a great career as long as her fans support her. She is real talent and she seems like she is a down to earth person . She did n ot let all the fame go to her head like some other artists. Just because Murder Inc does not exist anymore does not mean she does not have talent. Her talent is still and will always be there all she needs is support. I was an Ashanti fan back then and I still am a fan of hers because I love real music. Real music lovers recognize real raw talent when they hear or see it.
