Weezy gave her a contract because he believed in her talent, crossover appeal, and ability to move records.
Obvious her “gimmick” worked because she is the most charted female in hip hop history (currently has 7 songs on Billboard Hot 100) and have sold millions. I don’t think she’s doing too bad… Haterz stay pressed over this girl!!

I think people need to reevaluate their definition of “haters” and “being pressed”. I don’t hate Nicki at all. I congratulate her success and the fanbase she has now. What i don’t understand is how anybody can say that she’s being herself these days. She was fine doing her own thing before and when gaga made it okay to be crazy again and everyone and their mama started jumping on that train as well as Nicki. (not comparing her to Gaga but look at the dates. everyone started doing that shit around 2009 when gaga started to really blow up) I see her now and it just feels like she’s just trying to ,as I stated before, out crazy everyone else instead of be a good artist.
I’d like to be able to support her. She is the most popular chick in the rap game today and I want to see her do well but not for churning out bullshit. I want to see her make a mark on the industry but what she’s doing now is just a flash in the pan and most likely won’t be remembered. I want her to succeed and to have a long career but I also want her to put out quality things.
But like you said, opinions are relative. Why is anyone pressed over mine? I think it’s shit compared to what she has done before and if your opinion isn’t the same, good for you. I don’t care if it’s treasure to anyone else, it’s trash to me. She isn’t completely talent-less (although she should stop singing) but she doesn’t use that talent to back up her gimmicks, she just lets the gimmicks speak for themselves and that’s not cool. If she backed that shit with dope ass lyrics then she would be the shit but she hasn’t so far.

1) Please edit your writing next time.That was just sad to read.
2) I would believe that Nicki was just inspired to be her “true self” if there was some kind of method to the madness. It literally just looks like she is trying to stay relevant by being crazier than everyone else. At least Grace and Gaga wear crazy shit but have a reason for doing it and can give the the history and inspiration for the outfits. Nicki seemed just fine wearing colorful eye make-up and her regular get up until others were jumping on the crazy train as well and were outshining her. Then that’s when the chick went HAM in a Hello Kitty factory and strolled through the Crayola factory when she was done. It all feels forced to me.
3) I did give constructive criticism. She should stop trying to be crazier than everyone and work on honing her craft. I’m not saying she should rhyme the way she did before (which really wasn’t mush different than now) but she should go back to the mentality she had. She seemed more comfortable and more focused on what she was saying rather than what everyone else was wearing or doing. She should tap back in to that and put out some quality shit. She already has the public eye and Wayne backing her so if she really has true talent, it will speak for itself. She can continue with the crazy shit if she wants but put the craft first and let it back you up. Don’t just have gimmicks and that’s it. Have some dope ass unforgettable type shit to back you up.
And don’t even bring Missy into this. I like Missy and she was never trying to compete with anyone. When she did some out of the box shit you could tell that is was because she wanted to and was trying to push boundaries. It all felt organic with her. It wasn’t like she was calm for a while and when other people started changing, she hopped on board. Missy has and always will do her own damn thing. She don’t give a fuck about showing her ass like the chicks around her was doing or getting her rhymes written for her. She was in the studios with the producers doing her own damn thing.
