Pop force Katy Perry may have already wracked up multi-Platinum success with her sophomore set, ‘Teenage Dream’, however she’s not ready to let the credits roll just yet.
As previously reported, the former Mrs Brand is set to unleash a re-release, christened ‘Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection’.
Yet, today saw the the 27 year old’s label lift the lid on the LP’s cover, as well as official details surrounding the set.
Peep the colourful above, and read for the ‘good-good’ on the retooled LP.
Set to arrive on March 26th, the sweetened collection will boast 3 brand new tracks, as well as remixes of the original’s big hits (‘E.T.’, ‘Last Friday Night’ and ‘The One That Got Away’).
Speaking on the release, 25 year old Perry beamed:
“This is the complete story of Teenage Dream. It was an incredible honor to tie the King of Pop’s Billboard Hot 100 record, but I’m moving forward and had a few things left to get off my chest. So this is the complete special edition of my album for my fans.”
Clearly, the last line about also trying to top MJ was left on the cutting room floor.
And while we’re team MJ winter, spring, summer, or fall, we can’t hate on Katy’s aspirations. ‘Dream’ has generated more than 25.5 million in digital song sales and earned Katy six Grammy Award nominations, including ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Record of the Year.’ Who would want to wake up from that?

The cover is a miss. It should have been a grungy glamour shot 90s style, maybe TRY to convince people that there is some emotion on this record. We already got the campy original cover, why serve up more?

THAT is the record that someone needs to tie, not remixed, re-heat, re-done, re-booted, retooled and re-toasted songs that are tired and can’t get to #1 without a “leg-up” by rent-a-rapper.com/iamdesperateandneedhitsnowsosueme We know MJ is unbeatable in this aspect. When did someone last get more than 3 #1’s from an album without a remix?
And I HAVE to agree, I think that cover is horrible! Couldn’t they take some time to make a special one that would have paid homage to the original? Oh well, let’s see if this is remembered in 25 years…(Going off to listen to the musical brilliance that is Bad and hoping for the 25th Anniversary edition.
