Lana Del Rey‘s major label debut may have only just hit stores, yet that hasn’t stopped the set – christened ‘Born To Die‘ – from cementing her status as Pop’s biggest breakout star.

Not only has the buzz surrounding the 25 year old seen the LP sit atop of iTunes charts in 14 countries, it has landed Lana on the cover of Vogue UK’s March issue. More power to her!

    She is predicted to sell 60k in the US…she may be bolstered by the WW sales though.

    S/N: Who the fcuk is still buying 21????? The b**** is moving an average of 100k every wk.

    l know many bicthes who needed countless hits to be featured on Voguel am impressedl meanBruno mars has the best selling international album of 2011,hadd 3 #1 but he has yet to be on the cover.

    Her label is promoting her well

    Kudos to having a #1 album

    One of the biggest debuts in the last years it seems (yeah starting in so many countries at #1 with a debut album, of course it won´t be like Gaga´s debut album in the end for example, but just the debut is bigger. I need to explain before one of the many fools on here start replying to me)
    Adele is going to be #1 again? Where is she going to be when she wins the grammys then?

  6. Mimi February 2, 2012

    I like her music but I’m bit off knowing that it’s just an illusion. And she is just another auto tune, record label product. The truth is that there is nothing special about her. Too bad.

    @Kat Deluna Fan

    why would Bruno be on the cover of this white woman’s fashion magazine?

  8. KAT DELUNA FAN February 2, 2012

    There is Vogue for men like VOGUE L’uomo.

    l was talking about being featured in a big mag like RollingS,V,etc.. by himself

  9. Popeater February 2, 2012

    Wow, i must be getting old. I have no clue who she is. The power of marketing.

  10. Dope or nope February 2, 2012

    I don’t really see this girl lasting long in the music industry I really don’t see what the BIG deal is about her I never heard any of her music on the radio.

    She is kinda like a fly on the wall she is just there.. Like you know what I’m saying

    She is NO! Beyonce, rihanna, lady gaga, Adele, briteny spears,

    She is just there I don’t see nothing special about this chick AT ALL!

    She on the same boat as kreayflop is on there is just nothing there

    @Kat

    Yeah, I suppose you do make a good point. You don’t see Bruno by himself on glossy mag covers, but then again, I think I could say the same about MIchael Buble who also sells a s*** load of albums and doesn’t cover many mags. Maybe it would be different for Bruno if he were white, because unlike Buble, Bruno is a mainstay on top 40 radio? I remember the spread Bruno did American Vogue with the model Joan Smalls, but that’s about it.

    LMAO @KD’s commentary!! Adele is great but for the album to be selling so steady for a year is like a throwback to sales in the ’80!! The b**** is s sales beast! Damn!

  13. Ass February 2, 2012

    Oh and congrats to Lana. Very impressive debut!

  14. KAT DELUNA FAN February 2, 2012

    Bruno did like 1 or 2 cover by himself.Everything else,he shared with other singers.He was feat in Vogue already.
    l mean his origins are a major part obviously,l agree.Buble is not really mainstream or pop-ish so it explains the marketing approach.

    Anyway,it’s impressive to see all those new girls (Lana,nicki,katy…) go so far,so fast.The game is becoming easy to break into imo

    @Kat

    It’s harder to get on certain Vogue covers than others. Issues of Vogue with lower circulations and subscribers tend to take more risks than Vogue issues with great big subscription bases and huge circulation. For that reason, British Vogue is a big deal, but it’s not as big a deal as American Vogue. In fact, I would expect to see Lana on the cover of French Vogue before American Vogue.

    Yeah, Nicki came up quick. Katy, not really. This is Katy’s second album, after all. I read in the NYT that Nicki’s people are supposedly in talks about an American Vogue cover, and I don’t know how I feel about that. On the one hand, I’m always eager to see more black women and other women of color on the cover, but on the other hand, what exactly is Nicki contributing to the discourse on fashion? To me, Nicki Minaj on the cover of US Vogue would seem tacky. But then on the other other hand, Gaga got a US Vogue cover really fast . . . so I don’t know.

  16. KAT DELUNA FAN February 2, 2012

    @MARI
    thanks for those explanations.Katy did many covers( RS,glamour,etc pretty fast too).For example,Lana did the Vogue cover while leona never did.

    l heard the same thing about Nicki aswell.l feel the same as you but there is no question:Nicki will be on the cover of Vogue #period.She is still on a “one hit wonder” status.She is not established or have longevity.l am sure,she will be on the cover regardless because those new girls dont play.Gaga opened the doors for them.

    Gaga was everywhere the last 2/3 years,broke network and social medias records.Today,the other girls are using the same tricks to get her international notoriety.

    The game’s rules changed !

    WHO DIS WOMAN?

  20. Vegas Girl February 2, 2012

    Interscope has some long money! She already has a cover? Wow. And #1 in 14 countries. Good for her ( better for her record label)!

  21. MissImpartial February 2, 2012

    Tried to listen to her music after all the hype and have to say it is boring and lifeless and made me go to sleep. People jump on any bandwagon if it is hyped up correctly.

  22. Kingphoenix February 2, 2012

    Awe no #1 U.S? Lmfao, i knew this b**** was the white Rihanna! A marketing scheme at its best, smh, when will people wake up and realize the f****** truth!

  23. ♛ pop royalty ♛ ( iMusic ) February 2, 2012

    I love you LDR , and imma let you finish

    But ADELE is still Alive for YOU and GAGA combined !! 21 is truly the album of this generation !!

    and i Co-sign with @KAT de LUNA Fan comments cuz she is saying the real truth in them.
    especially the nicki’s ones !!

    great cover BTW, and the album is #quality ! i’m glad real music is in the TOP again. but as i said , ADELE is here to stay and to slay them basic h*** , she’s cleaning the house !!

  24. #oops February 2, 2012
