Madonna Breaks Own Billboard Record, Notches 38th Top 10

Published: Thursday 16th Feb 2012 by Rashad

The champ is here!

With her latest Nicki Minaj/M.I.A.-assisted single ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’ getting nothing but love from fans, music monarch Madonna continues her reign over contemporaries with reports that ‘Luvin’ has landed her a 38th top 10 single.  The first single lifted from her 12th studio album “MDNA”, due March 26, only extended the singer’s etch in history books as original gain of the record came from 2008’s ‘4 Minutes To Save the World’ (her 37th top 10).

While Barbadian pop princess Rihanna bumped Madge from atop her other Billboard record (most top 10s in shortest time) by only 5 months, she does not stand as a present threat to dethrone the diva from this newly secured placement.

There are a few who still can, however.  Find out who after the jump:

Via Billboard:

38 — Madonna

34 — the Beatles

28 — Michael Jackson

28 — Stevie Wonder

27 — Mariah Carey

27 — Janet Jackson

27 — Elton John

25 — Elvis Presley (whose career predates the chart’s Aug. 4, 1958, inception)

23 — Whitney Houston

23 — the Rolling Stones

Given Rihanna’s age and unwillingness to relent with her incessant aural attacks, chances are the ‘We Found Love’ diva may find herself soon tying, if not breaking, Madge’s record.  With Drake‘s ‘Take Care’ giving Riri her 21st top 10, only 17 placements stand in her way.  Oh, the power of the fast food hit.

all right Janet & Whitney are who I am happy to see in there—WOW Madonna. I only want this song to do well cause NICKI & MIA are on it, she is played to me…BUT she can move for her age-I will buy it & support-

  2. JohnVidal February 16, 2012

My angel Whitney is gone, so I´ll support to the next level now the last true greats we still have. For example on this list Mariah and Madonna (well she is not that talented but her career is stunning)

I thought you da one peaked in top twenty. When did it reach top 10?

  4. DTG February 16, 2012

Madonna’s career stats blow everybody else’s out the water. She’s getting to the point where she’s breaking her own records. The Queen of Pop.

  5. dee February 16, 2012

The song is extremely lame and childish. The superbowl hype over this song will soon fade.

  6. Miao February 16, 2012

Next week this song will drop out of Top 20. Worst lead single in her career.

  7. BitchIcantevenspellwelfare February 16, 2012

@Miao, “Worst lead single in her career.” I agree 100%. I LOVE Madonna–I still can’t believe how bad that song is.

  8. RYK101 February 16, 2012

How, HOW a post about Madonna focuses on Rihanna? God this sites LOVES her, anyway, Princess of China will more likely become another top 10 and i predict at least another 3 top 10 from Talk That Talk so probably when Talk That Talk era ends, she will be at 25 top 10 hits, so props to her, she knows how to make hits

And Sam I have a question, if Rihanna’s music is fast food music, then what is Minaj’s music? I mean I ask because you seem to praise her when she is clearly not better than Rihanna, and to be honest every single too 10 by Rihnna shits on Starships (which actually is GENERIC and FAST FOOD, your favorite adjectives for Rihanna music)

  9. MadBrax February 16, 2012

there are no threats on that list. lol Madonna will get some more even if Mariah does, it would take a lot of hits to pass her, and well Janet’s career is dead in the water. Maybe ol girl needs to take the Whitney route for a comeback

  10. jerry February 16, 2012

    @MADBRAX

Janet got u pressed i see.. Y dont u do all of us a favor and drop dead with ur nobody ass.

  11. Edgy_Timless February 16, 2012

    Stop this FOOLISHNESS!!

Her label is paying for this just like they paid for radio to play this shite single 😕

Her SB performance was SHITE & GRANNYdonna was laughed at because she couldn’t keep up 🙂

Plus, her album will do MEDIOCORE numbers 2.5 million at best

  16. chocolatebox777 February 16, 2012

Janet will top that on her next album release…So look out Madonna with all that slick talking U been doing lately about her..But anywho Congrats on that accomplishment

  17. X,Y,”and Z” February 16, 2012

Ol’ “Grand Ma Keckelsworth” is at it again, I see.

*Meh..* These rusty snatch broads – I tell ya..

    X,Y,”and Z” — OUT…!!!

  18. Deangelo R. February 16, 2012

With Mariah’s new album coming out this year, she’ll definitely pass Stevie Wonder & Michael Jackson’s record. Although she’ll still fall short of The Beatles & Madonna. Oh well, #TeamMariah!

  19. Anne February 16, 2012

Quite evident who the real, one and only QOP is, like it or not. The other serious contenders (Stevie, Mariah, Janet, and Elton) are all double digits away from her, not close. Go MADONNA!

  20. The Queen of Undisputed Pop Legend February 16, 2012

No GaGa in the list ???????? Oh well..

    🙂

  21. MILLA February 16, 2012

ALL WANNABES PLEASE SIT DOWN QUIETLY !!!!!!

  22. irene46 February 16, 2012

gotta admit 38 top 10 singles is impressive although this pathetic single is far from it. not even in madonna’s young days did she sing such bubblegum garbage. ‘4 minutes’ sounded young and fresh without sounding silly for an older woman. i’m gonna blame the success of this wretched song on new and much younger fans. i give her older fans credit for having better taste.

btw, she’s put out 12 studio albums. isn’t that a lot more albums than most on the list have released?

  23. JER February 16, 2012

Yer just mad Mariah, Whitney, and Madonna best every record your fave tried to get.

  24. Onyx February 16, 2012

The song is getting to much credits, is not that good but she is Madonna, this song would not be #1 but not all Madge’s singles were #1 like Britney Spears who only have 4 #1 singles, anyway the song is catchy but doesn’t deserve to be #1 and i’m a fan of Madonna, the top ten is already enough. Madonna is the kind of Artist that doesn’t need a #1 single to have a successful career, she is breaking her own record, ther is no one at her age that is doing that only her and she is a woman that is the most surprising thing that only her can do this. As for Rihanna she is doing well her singles going #1 is a great thing for her leave the girl alone, Sam i don’t know if you learn the lesson with Whitney Houston, but you have to stop with all those shades to everyone, if Madonna, Rihanna or Beyonce die will you finally treat this women with some respect, enjoy this women in their life time because when they’re gone you can’t do nothing, Rihanna is a lovely girl, imagine if she die how would you feel after all the shades you write about her, Man think about it, they’re just give Music whatever you like it or not, Good Music and talent is only in the eyes of the taste, some loves Classic Music, some loves Dance Music, if everybody like the same time them this world would be horrible.

  25. commanderofthedancefloor February 16, 2012

sam is so pressed!!! rihanna’s music is fast food?? and yet he likes starship wtf???
that makes no sense! anyways keep hating on rihanna because honestly she doesnt care and will never see it!

  26. THE GREAT LACEFRONCE. February 16, 2012

    MANFRED is sooooooo PRESSED!!!!!

    What a GIMMICK.

THE GREAT LACEFRONCE predicts that Manfred and his nephew Steven will fade into Irrelevancy.Theres only so much Talentless Trannies can do with GIMMICKS.

Oh and his new tour will FLOP LMAOOOOOOOO 😉

  27. Tbozfan10 February 16, 2012

The above person is obsessed with “trannies” it’s hilarious. And btw there’s nothing wrong with people who are “trannies” it’s their choice it has nothing to do with you so quit using that word like it’s an insult. Also, I love Janet Jackson but some of her fans are delusional calling her the “queen of pop” when she hasn’t even sold half the amount of records as Madonna. I mean, if you believe Janet is BETTER than Madonna then that’s cool. But you can’t really consider her the Queen when she hasn’t sold half the records as the current Queen.

  28. Globaltrackchart February 19, 2012

Congratulations Madonna!!! Ur truly the queen of pop!!!

  29. Nathan Cooper June 30, 2012

You know you’re a true music icon when you start beating your own records. Anyway, when did this post get to be about Rihanna, Sam?
