‘The Heat’ hitmaker Toni Braxton is looking to bring just that with a new release set for next month! The followup to 2010′s criminally underrated ‘Pulse’, the six time Grammy winner’s career has certainly regained its pulse after news broke of her split with former manager/brother-in-law Vincent Herbert. Add on the runaway success of WEtv reality show ‘Braxton Family Values’ (which also chronicles the business split) and you have the makings for a great comeback!
Sharing the news recently with ‘Fashion News Live’ host Rocco Leo Gaglioti at the Mercedes-Benz 2012 Fall/Winter Fashion Week, Miss Braxton also reveals the time frame for which the single’s, entitled ‘I Heart You’, parent album will be released. It’s alot sooner than you think:
With youngest sister Tamar Braxton also readying her single for release in the next few months, their playful sibling rivalry may gain a new battleground – Billboard charts. If a dance single is the way to go, however, remains to be seen. ‘Make My Heart’ was Toni’s most recent foray into dance and was met with mixed reception.
Do you think Toni’s comeback should be led with a dance single?

Toni needs to go back to Secret and Toni days-90′s R&B!!! I hate these artists in the 90′s are trying to cater the dumb younger generation and not catering to the real fans who support her from the beginning. The younger generation don’t appreciate music at all, especially real music!!! Toni, sweetie please go back to drawing board and bring R&B back, not this pop-dance garbage!!!!

Toni has to find her audience again as she hasn’t made noise on the charts since 2001. I hope everything turns around for her with this new LP.

BUT WHY 9 songs???
she can at least remake a song of what was leaked from ‘Pulse’ and didn’t get through the final cut.
FOR EXAMPLE, an acoustic version of ‘I Hate Love’ . AHHH! thats gonna be HOT!

I heart you, Toni Braxton. I’m naming my first child Braxton, after you. If that’s not ICON status, then I don’t know what is.

I am always excited about a new album from Toni. I love her sexy alto. I want her to go in the same direction of her music from ‘The Heat’. She should sing more songs like ‘He wasn’t Man Enough’ and ‘Maybe’, etc. I don’t really care for today’s Dance music. It’s so disposable and cliche now. I will say that Toni and Chris Brown tend to do it best though, but it’s not for everybody. I liked ‘Make My Heart’, but I wouldn’t prefer it over what I know Toni could offer. I hope their just testing the waters and that the “real music” Toni has up her sleeve shine through.

I think that Toni releasing a dance single is a strategic move. She can easily score a #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart which will give her more recognition in today’s music. In the past few years, her singles have not charted on the Hot 100 and when they do chart on the Hip Hop/R&B chart it is at a very low position.
I’m relieved that Toni is doing something different with her music because older music fans are always complaining that they want “old school” Secrets Toni Braxton. However, when Pulse came out and it had songs that were very similar to those on Secrets such as “No Way” and “Why Won’t You Love Me”, they did not support it. Toni cannot continue to do those 90s-esque ballads and songs if the fans are not going out and buying it. Music is a business. I want her to have a reinvention like Cher had with “Believe” and I have been saying this for the past 2 years so maybe her team finally caught wind of my suggestion.

Toni is set for a great comeback. Her last album was good but going thru management, health and financial issues took its toll on promotional efforts. You have to have the right mix – great songs and promo.

TONI’S AUDIENCE IS OLDER. THEY WILL NOT SUPPORT A DANCE TRACK. SHE MAY BE ABLE TO GET A #1 HIT, BUT THE DANCE MUSIC FANS WILL NOT BUY HER ALBUM!!!! SHE NEEDS TO HAVE A FRESH MIXTURE OF CONTEMPORARY R&B/HIP HOP WITH THE OLD TONI TWIST. AND SHE ALSO NEEDS PROMOTION! WE ARE NOT IN THE AGE WHERE MUSIC SELLS ALBUMS. YOU HAVE TO GET UP GET OUT AND DO SOMETHING!

Congrats to Toni , whatever she does will be good she ‘s a terrific performer and a good mix of R&B and soul and a little twist should do it as only Toni Braxton can do . Her audience is older and in order to attract the younger crowd I guess she with help from her record company will need to be creative and the record company get off their a___ and promote her she is a major artist and has proven that she can sell music!!
