Later confirmed to be one of the night’s performing acts, her fans and detractors alike await to see just how she will fare on the night, now less than a fortnight away.
Now peep the star dishing on those nominations, how she felt about being at last year’s show and her thoughts on what it means to be a true musician.
As she said, the nominations are a blessing in themselves.
However, if Nicki did win any of the awards she nominated for, she would be one of the only Femcees in Grammy history to win for her own work and not as a contributing act, a feat few lady lyricists can say they’ve scored.
This, would not take anything from the award Lil Kim shares with Mya, Pink and Aguilera for ‘Marmalade’ ,but would prove that Nicki is the act Foxy Brown, Trina and Kim almost became, but fell short of.
For fear of being labelled a sell out.
Either way,here’s to the continued revival of female Rap and the hope that the new generation of girls will be far braver than the women they were inspired by.

Look, as a Nicki fan, I will not diminish someone elses work. Salt n’ Pepa was the FIRST female rap crew to ever win a Grammy. EVE won in 2002 for Let Me Blow Ya Mind and that song featured Gwen Stefani hitting the hook. You don’t have to shade others to bolster Nicki’s accomplishments.
