Both in life and in death, Whitney Houston remains the vocal bible. Naturally, then, it’s inevitable that a host of artists are lining up to pay tribute to the late megastar, who passed onto eternity on Saturday.
As such, following Ashanti, Pop star Nicole Scherzinger is the latest to tip her hat to Houston, performing the classic ‘I Will Always Love You’ on her ‘Killer Love Tour’ in Brussels, Belgium last night.
Check out her take on the track after the jump…
Again, with the influx of tributes, we’re simply appreciative of the sentiment and the fact that the stars of today recognise that Whitney’s success opened the door for theirs.
Your thoughts?

As much foolishness and clowning idoits have tried to throw Whitney’s way claiming that others took her spot (as if), the one thing that should be crystal clear at this point is that Whitney Houston had perfect pitch, tone and true vocal control. Ppl confuse being able to hold a note and/or screaming with singing. Nicole did an admirable job but WHITNEY I MISS!!

Wow! She has a tour!!!!
Anyway, she sounded alright, but no-one, no-one will ever sing that song as well as Whitney. There has been no vocal power or match since she came on the scene and now that she’s gone maybe someone else will be blessed.

Wow. Nicole did this as a tribute to Whitney. This isn’t about how well she sung it or anything like that (even though personally I think she did a good job). We know no one can do it like Whitney, and I don’t think she tried to.

She did a cool job. OK, she’s not Whitney obviously, but she’s a great vocalist and it’s kind of frustrating that she either hides her voice behind cheap electro beats or screams in the middle of the song to prove herself…I wish she found a better way to showcase her voice.
Rest In Peace Whitney…

@TAYLOR SWIFTS NUMBER 1 FAN!!!
Erm, how is it a tribute to Dolly? Please don’t walk in here acting like you know exclusive information and everyone else is ignorant.
Yes, Dolly is talented and yes we all know Dolly wrote the song and sang it first. However, it was Whitney’s version of the song that achieved mega success and is renowned as the most powerful love song/ballad ever released.
It also went on to be a major influence to every vocalist out there. And in case you didn’t notice.. Nicole sang Whitney’s interpretation, which thereby makes it a tribute to Whitney, not Dolly.

@TIMMI
Dolly still had a hit with it, and part of the reason it was big, because it was from a big movie. Obviously her version is great. Im just saying it seems alittle weird, that out all the songs witney has, everyones singing this song, one that isnt even hers…
What happens when dolly parton dies.. Everyones gonna be singing this song again.. but in dollys style.

@TAYLOR SWIFTS NUMBER 1 FAN!!!…, I hear what you’re saying and in some ways you are right but IWALY is arguably Whitney’s most successful record (note I purposely avoided using the word ‘song’) therefore this will always be her signature ballad. The same thing with ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, written by Prince…, I@m sure if Sinead O’Connor died it will be that song she is rememered and tributed with, not one of her lesser known records.

Yeah supose, but prince never sang nothing compares to you or released it as a single, as far as Im aware , he only wrote it, So in a way its not the same.
But yeh anyone under 25 now, will probs only wanna listen to witneys version, dolly’s version is probs loved more by the older generation.
