Remember when 50 Cent‘s music was inescapable on radio? Remember when 50 Cent was the biggest rapper in the game? Remember when 50 Cent was relevant to music? Think hard…
Since the early 00′s rap music has mutated to an unrecognizable Pop/Dance hybrid with only subtle traces of authentic Hip-Hop. It’s all about production, auto-tune, and a stuttered chorus. Can 50 Cent restore Hip-Hop’s integrity with his long-awaited fifth studio album? Only time will tell…
Still, read his plans after the jump and sound-off below.
Following internal label and management conflicts, 50 is finally ready to get the ball rolling by announcing a prospective July 2012 release date. The ‘In Da Club’ hit maker tweeted “My album is coming out july 2. I got some heat trust me I’m ready,” prompting excitement for the mysterious LP.
Now that his relationship with Interscope Records has been patched up, one can only hope 50 has been able to musically progress with the times without sacrificing the soul of Hip-Hop like many of his peers have been unsuccessfully able to do.

Love or hate 50, I do think he’s got major comeback in him. He had just one CD with disappointing sales back in 2010. It’s not like he’s reached the point of no return yet. The guy is legendary.

I love me some classic 50 Cent..hell I lost 25 lbs at the Gym listening to Get Rich Or Die Trying. I also enjoyed Before I Self Destruct. I need him to make the new CD mirror those two and I’m on it like a “fat kid loves cake” <— LOL classic 50 line!
I hope he get Breezy to do a hook or two for him. I enoy their energy together!
