Estelle Lands ‘Vibe Vixen’ Cover, Defends Chris Brown

‘Break My Heart’ hitmaker Estelle has certainly been seen making her rounds in support of her latest effort ‘All Of Me’ (which hit stores late February).  Landing many-a-magazine feature, her latest comes in the form of Vibe Vixen where the U.K.’er earned covergirl status for its March digital issue.

While imparting info on her critically acclaimed offering, the brazen Brit also gave her two cents on the hot topic that was Rihanna and Chris Brown‘s reunion ‘Birthday Cake’ reunion.

As fans may know, Brown and his longtime friend/fellow Virginian Trey Songz both play guest star on Estelle’s ‘All Of Me’ track ‘International (Serious)’.  And much like Songz, the ‘American Boy’ singer came to the defense of her American collaborator.  Find out her thoughts below:

Via Vibe Vixen:

” I feel like Chris is an incredible singer, musician, dancer, entertainer, and brain box as far as business and that’s why I respect him and that’s where we meet at because I have nothing else to go on.”

“I get it, I understand, and I get the effects for young women. I can’t speak on it because I wasn’t there. Parents, raise your kids. Young men and women, raise your kids. Don’t let us raise your children. That’s my take on it,” she explains. “I respect him, I love him, he does amazing music, and has evolved. He’s worked his ass off, so why are people still crucifying him?”

It seems that Estelle thinks the media, and us as outsiders looking in, are too hard on Chris. When we asked, she said, “I just think people need to worry about their lives per say. Don’t worry about who he’s recording songs, who he’s doing this with if you enjoy the music. A lot of the same people were two stepping to ‘Look At Me Now,’ so it’s kind of like, keep your story straight or just don’t judge. Roll with it or don’t, but don’t dip in and out. We all make mistakes. A sin is a sin is a sin. It’s no big smoke, let the boy live. He does music.”

”I get it, I understand, and I get the effects for young women. I can’t speak on it because I wasn’t there. WELL SAID PPLE IN THE MUSI INDUSTRY KNOWS WHAT REALY HAPPENED I STILL BELIEVE RIHANNA PROVOKED CB NOT THAT SHE DESERVED THE BEATING BUT SHE AINT A SAINT (SHE IS DEVILISH IN MY WENDY WILLIAMS VOICE) ITS UNFORTUNATE THAT THE VICTIM WILL ALWAYS HAVE SYMPATHY VOTES I HOPE RIHANNA GETS HELP COZ SHE IS A PSYCHO AND SHE DOES NEED THOSE ANGER MANAGEMENT LESSONS TOO

  3. kimberly March 16, 2012

I Have been saying this from day one. The same ones crucifying him running away with people’s husbands, they steal, they lie, etc we all can go on and on but lastly we all judge which is a sin and none is bigger than the other. Whilst people busy judging chris he may just have clense his heart already leaving you in the ditch.

@ Martin of course she provoked him. It just happened that the man always takes the heat for domestic violence. If a man reports a woman beating on him, I am sure the officiers would laugh undercover. lol. but from since the accident this girl was no saint. That’s why she cannot get a man in her life. c’mon now, it’s not that she doesn’t want one. no one is interested in her attitude right now, she is trouble.
God Bless you CB and keep it moving.

She put it down to parents needing to raise there kids…Come on! What ever happened to people taking responsibility for their OWN actions?

@Kimberly @MArtin. WHERE YOU THERE??? No, I thought as much. So take a seat when it comes to placing blame!

Will people leave us alone w/ this CB kid? I understand why he doesn’t feel the need to do interviews, other artists do it for him.

@MARTIN who in the industry was present? You must be young. any man in a relationship with a woman no that they push your button all the time. that what women do, but you don’t see every man beating their woman because the provoke them. I guess you must be from a single parent home. If you’re going to get mad and hit a woman every time she pushes your button i’m sorry for you because that’s just part of been in a relationship with a woman. they know they cannot win in a fight so they say things to hurt you even when they don’t mean it. Go watch tyrese in baby boy

@Estelle well stated and trying to debate who passe the first lick is definitely a waiste of time.

I really hate when people use the word crucify to explain when people get consequences.for their actions. Anyhow, are people still trying to blame Rihanna for Chris Brown beating her like a man? For real though? Chris Brown has anger problems as evidenced by his twitter rants beating up Rihanna and throwing a chair out of a window. But I guess Robin provoked CB to throw the chair out the window too.

AND HERE IS A BIG OL’ AMERICAN SMOOCH FOR YOU ESTELLE! Who is looking lovely on the cover by the way!

It’s funny how scared folks are to tell the truth. The hypocrisy in accepting Sean Penn as he won an Oscar & is the new Ambassador to Hati despite having beating Madonna & Robin Wright. The hypocrisy in accepting Eminem as he’s won 13 Grammys yet he beat his wife Kim nd even smacked up him mom at one point. The hypocrisy in accepting Rodney Atkins who has won 5 Grammys 7 countless Country Music Awards although he recently beat up and tried to kill his wife Tammy in front of their 10 yr old son. The hypocrisy in accepting Charlie Sheen’s twenty years of abusing women yet he was the highest paid actor (still among the highest) in Hollywood. The list of adult men who have beaten wives and girlfriends is endless yet I have never seen the type of bashing and bullying Chris Brown receives leveled against them!

I LOVE YOU ESTELLE! Mwah talk that talk girl! lol 🙂

    @kimberly

    Speak on it!

Have you ever seen a program I think its entitled “What would you do” ? If not you can find it online. They stage various senerios to see what ppl would do in a situation. One was on public displays of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE from abusive language to physical assults. When a man was seen to be harming a woman EVERYONE stepped up to stop it but when the roles were reversed ppl WALKED BY….SOME STOOD AND WATCHED ….OTHERS LAUGHED AND THOUGHT IT WAS CUTE! A police offers was walking by with his wife and when asked he said “I wasn’t going to do anything unless he hit her back then I was going to stop him from hitting her”! WTF? I thought abuse was wrong but as well all know it is only wrong when a man or t*** (Chris Brown) hits a female back. The reverse is gladly accpeted and laughed at.

Estelle looks much better on these pics than in person

Please sit the f**k down! Chris Brown is being pubically LYNCHED by the white media establishment led by the femiNAZI’s of America. We all were told what happened three years ago. As the years went on we learned that the story that was scripted by the media only one-side of the tale. Becuase they want to use Chris as their new black male “whipping post” they decided never to examine the actions of both ppl and merely classify a fight between two young ppl as abuse against one, eventhough she admitted to hitting him 1st and many times that night! Fair is fair! If you want to discuss abuse fine make sure you discuss all of it not just the part where a female was struck also discuss her fists, feet, and what have you striking him as well!

Chris Brown does not have an anger management problem he has a media LYNCH A NI**ER problem! He just took a pic with a GAY/TRANSGENDER fan (@Sam where is the post for that?). The media is trying to make an issue of it. Gaga, Beyonce, Madonna etc have taken pics with GAY fans why is Chris the devil for doing the same?

    1) He didn’t throw a chair out of a barred window you media tool!
    2) He has RESPONDED to ppl attacking him on twitter! So have WHITE celebs but everyone thinks its cool when they defend themsleves!
    3) He and Rihanna fought each other 3 years ago. So what, they were teens and made a mistake with each other. GROW TH F**K UP!

  18. soamazing March 17, 2012

I love her music but I wont support her. She thinks violence is no big deal, wow, how smart she is.

  19. AngelFace March 18, 2012

I want to hear ppl talk about Sean Penn Rodney Atkins and Charloe Sheen the way they talk about Chris Brown. The differences are: he was damn near a teenager when this particular incident with Rihanna occurred and he is Black…any other reasons you can come with? Would LOVE to hear them…
