‘The Misunderstanding of Teyana Taylor’ finds the dark contralto borrowing various elements from her favorite artists and welding them into a distinctive sound of her own. She does so effortlessly, yet tactfully in a way that pays tribute to the sounds and artists that have inspired her throughout the completion of this project. A solid effort indeed.
