Swizz Beatz Promises Alicia Keys’ New Album To Be “Timeless”

New Alicia Keys music is on the way!

Is the pianist going to make another classic Motown-inspired R&B album reminiscent of her debut or is Keys planning to rehash ‘Element of Boredom Freedom’‘s listlessness into another idle LP?

See what record producer and Keys’ husband Swizz Beatz promises to expect from his wife’s upcoming collection after the jump and sound-off below.

“She’s working on a timeless piece,” Swizz told Angie Martinez of New York City’s Hot 97. “The topics that she’s speaking about are super deep and from the heart, and to me what music has been missing.” Swizz also confirmed the 31 year old will be hitting the studio with longtime collaborator and former alleged beau, Kerry “Krucial” Brothers.

Exciting news!

Hopefully this translates into more ‘Fallen’, ‘Diary’, and/or ‘Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready)’ type tracks from the soulful diva and less of the ‘Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart’ schmaltz that dominated the last era. Either way, Keys is a premium R&B artist that has earned the right to take her music wherever she’d like–anything she releases ‘TGJ’ will be anxiously looking forward to, as a talent like hers is rare to come by.

  2. Stephen March 24, 2012

“Doesn’t Mean Anything” was great. Alicia is a greater artist than most, she’s a real artist, unlike Beyonce who may be a better vocalist but isn’t too good as an artist.

  3. POP ROYALTY ( RUDE BOY) March 24, 2012

    element of boredom ?!! 🙄

i want to p*** In the mouth of the h** who wrote that line. 😈

XD of course , i love me. keys 🙂

  4. Lax March 24, 2012

Bring it on all or nothing Alicia.

  5. xoxo March 24, 2012

wtf? element of boredom? i loved that album! it was her 3rd best cd. anyway i am definitely getting alicias new stuff, one of the very few true artists in the mainstream.

  6. YOOSONDALOOSE March 24, 2012

Love Alicia, I cannot wait for this album, I have wanted it for too long now! Her music and voice is timeless.
And Element of Boredom? That album was amazing as was ‘Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart’.

  7. glum March 24, 2012

Gosh, I hope she’s not tryna jump on the dance-pop bandwagon.

  8. Beyoncé’s kryptonite March 24, 2012

I am so glad to hear new music from A.Keys. FINALLY! Her music is normally timeless, so this is great news.

At least we don’t have to hear microwave popcorn music from Beyoncé for a long time. Hallelujah!

  9. kingphoenix9 March 24, 2012

Okay, Alicia im ready for some hot ish! Bring it on!

  10. aishaaguilerakeys March 24, 2012

Swiss, shut tu and stay away from A’s career! I love TEOFand all the songs on it. To me, the album is flawless, but that’s my opinion.

  11. tee March 24, 2012

alicia keys cannot sing worth s*** just a pretty face and she in the illuminati now

  12. Stephen March 24, 2012

@TEE: if Alicia can’t sing, tell us who else can. She may not be on the vocal levels of Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson or Christina Aguilera, but she can definitely compete with them. Say u don’t like Alicia, but don’t talk trash about how she “can’t sing” , when even people like GaGa , Rihanna and Katy are passable singers

  13. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) March 24, 2012

    ‘Element Of Boredom’???

DAMN! This album is so damn underrated! It’s her most cohesive to date and its standout tracks were some of the best songs of her career. Just because it wasn’t pop or bass heavy, that doesn’t mean it’s boring… If anything, it’s ‘As I Am’ that was boring.

  14. grammy dammy sammy March 24, 2012

YASSSS Alicia bring it on im sick and tired of all my favs paying the 1st quarter of the year dust, bring on new music, while you’re at it get Mariah Carey and Pink doing something good too

  15. Josh86 March 24, 2012

After that mess she did at Whitney Houston’s funeral, she shouldn’t even wanna be seen let alone heard.smh

  16. Girrrl March 24, 2012

    Alicia please get some.voice lessons!!!

  17. JohnVidal (RIPWhitney-true great) March 24, 2012

    @poproyalty
haha I want to do that too 🙂
That was a great album. In fact the one I listened the most from Alicia Keys

  18. shion March 24, 2012

Well TEOF was boring to me and it had nothing to with it being r&b. The tracks were just dragging and they were missing that umph that I needed. Cohesively, it was solid but it could of been way better. And As I Am being boring?? Pssh, that was the only AK album I could listen to all the way through without skipping. Some great stadium and inspirational tracks on that one. TEOF was just one big love letter to Swiss Beats and after while it just got annoying. That’s not what im here for with her

On topic, we’ll just have to see how this album turns out. Always interested to see what AK has to offer

  19. tyra March 24, 2012

SOME OF U NEED TO SEEK HELP WITH UR BEYONCE OBSESSION THIS IS A AN A KEYS POST

  20. BEEyonced March 24, 2012

She may not be Beyoncé but the next best thing to her as overall artist.

In fact we only have these 2 great artist from the new generation. If you wanna hate, hate on all the other white low trash who brought this bizz down, which black artist build up from 60ies to 90ies.

Overall Songs in a Minor might be better than Elements of Freedom, but I’d rather listen to EOF 24 hours straight than 1 second of Bieber, Gaga, Spears, Madonna, Timberlake, Rihanna and all that non-artistic b*******, that’s dominating the charts, ups I mean public image over western jew press. And Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart ist one of my overall favs. not just AK-Favs. What’s yo problem?

  21. Girrrl March 24, 2012

I own all AK’s albums and this is how I would rank them:

    As I Am
    Songs/Diary
    Elements

However, starting with As I Am, Alicia’s voice went downhill. She started screaming instead of singing and went way out of her natural range, which I think caused her voice to deteriorate.

  22. royalkev March 24, 2012

I love Sleeping with a broken heart! I hate Fallien. I also loved “Elements”. I’m sure if Alicia does Alicia she’ll be fine.

  23. DareToDeal March 24, 2012

    ” Elements of a Yawn-fest”

Not here for Stealicia and her straining vocals. LOL @ Alicia being an artist. More like a Con-artist. She’s the perfect example of playing an instrument doesn’t make you talented. Mediocre piano skills and average vocals.

  24. DareToDeal March 24, 2012

” Try sleeping with a married man”

    “Elements of a home-wrecker”

  25. xoxo March 24, 2012

    @daretodeal

although im a fan of alicia, comments like that are hilarious!

  26. KAT DELUNA FAN March 24, 2012

Lmao this post is a mess, the comments are even worst 😆
l am not a big fan but she always has 1 or 2 really good songs on her album, the rest being good tracks.

who the hell is this man? why cant she talk about it her goddamn self 😕 ?

  27. Sonya March 24, 2012

Yes, I agree with @royalkev, if Alicia does herself like she always has she will be fine. I loved TEOF and think it was her best and most unappreciated album. All her albums are great but to me TEOF was the best. I Love “Pray for Forgiveness” and “Love is Blind” and “Unthinkable” is a masterpiece, like “Fallin” and “Diary”. Music doesn’t get better than Alicia’s. I think we’re all aware anyone can sing with autotune but to hear Alicia and Adele actually sing, well that is definitely something on another level and should be appreciated. Take a good look Rhianna. Who cares if they make a little mistake now and then, it’s actually them singing and nothing fake. I personally get a little bored with the same cookie cutter music and talent. With Alicia, she’s always got something a little different and I like that, well as long as she doesn’t decide to rap. 🙂 People who really love music can appreciate Alicia.

  28. Songscribe March 24, 2012

Please leave rihanna a lone. Aint this an A Keys post? If a person always talk about something/somebody, they secretly whish they where that person or wish they had what that somebody has or else its plain jelousy. If she got no talent or whatsoever, y dont u jus ignore her and move on to talk about the talented? I am not her big fan but this is sickening!

  29. AliensAreOurMasters March 24, 2012

She can not sing and never could.

  30. fatu sankoh March 24, 2012

tyra live our bey alone bey happen to like alice keys long live queen bey

  31. King Tasha March 24, 2012

    Not with that typewriter song

  32. like it is March 24, 2012

all of you who are against alicia need to shut up and how dare you put her and beyonce in the same sentence, beyonce is not even on AK level with the nonsence she sings about and her loud screaming voice

  33. number1k9 March 25, 2012

    LMFAO!!!

    The Element Of Boredom!

AHAHAHAHA, she has became so borign as an artist, I was never a big fan of her. ANd doubt she will ever be as big as she was circa 2001-2005/8 ish.

Simply playing the piano, and singing ballads with only an OK voice which has gotten worse over the years is no longer cutting it. Voice has gotten so strained and airy over the years!

  34. CH March 25, 2012

Im a fan of A.Keys, Beyonce, and Rihanna I think they each offer something that no other artist is bringing, however the difference between them is that when A.Keys turns 60 she will still be able to sing all the songs on any of her albums the other two wont because of their songs content/subject matter. Beyonce is definately trying to get back to having songs with solid timeless content (4) she just needs to stay away from songs like ‘videophone’ and ‘Run the World’ though . Rihanna well…

  35. number1k9 March 25, 2012

    @ DARETODEAL

LMFAO, thsoe plays on her songs and album title were HIL-F******-LRIOUS! ! !

Especially “Try Sleeping With A Married Man,” ahahah you had me seriously laughing out loud, THNX!

  36. number1k9 March 25, 2012

    @ CH

“when A.Keys turns 60 she will still be able to sing all the songs on any of her albums the other two wont because of their songs content/subject matter.”

ummmm, “Put It In A Love Song”

I rest my case! Every artist makes some songs to be young/current/catchy/etc. Do not exclude A-Keys from it and say ALL her music is mature and timeless!

  37. CH March 25, 2012

There is nothing crude about put it in a love song, yes at 60 she could sing that, try harder.

  38. CH March 25, 2012

As a matter of fact dont try as I probably wont even be back on this post the point stands that Alicia’s music is written with a maturity that many young artist are lacking who wants to be singing ‘naughty girl’ or ‘birthday cake’ at 60 yrs old?

  39. SAM March 30, 2012

@number1k9, It’s obvious you have no appreciation for good music. Anyway why do you feel the need to diss on Alicia? Why should she or her music even concern you if you don’t like her or it? I definitely won’t waste my time putting down an artist I don’t really care for just to let everyone else know. Don’t you think your time could be better used doing something or reading about someone or something you like? There is no point knocking her down just because YOU don’t like her. Go enjoy yourself because the ones of us who do like her at least have a positive reason for being on this site.

  40. alicia keys best fan ever April 5, 2012

omg Boring how dare u write the element of freedom is boring…………!!
    1 of the best!!
and cnt wait for new material!! and plzz bring more try sleeping!!! my fav omg some of these writers today dont know what there writing about whos employing these writers…..they sound BORING!!!!!

  41. Sonya April 21, 2012

DareToDeal, A bit jealous? You’re definitely not funny so why not go pick on some other artist now. Got a feeling that’s your THING. Cyberbullying-have you heard about it? Anyway why even be concerned with Alicia posts if you dislike her so much. There are lots of artists I don’t care for but it really doesn’t seem necessary to visit posts or make negative comments about them. What a waste of time.

Looking forward to new music from this very talented lady. Go Alicia! <3

  42. Taylor May 31, 2012

Yayyy! I’m so happy, and I hope on her new album there will be much more songs I want to download. Good luck, AK, wishing the best for you. This here is a singer of talent.

  43. Freeman Kirchhoff June 11, 2012

I simply had to appreciate you once again. I am not sure the things I would have carried out in the absence of the concepts discussed by you regarding such a area of interest. It was a very challenging matter for me personally, but coming across this professional manner you solved it forced me to leap for joy. I’m happy for this assistance as well as believe you find out what a great job your are putting in training others by way of a blog. I know that you’ve never got to know all of us.
