We love us a talented act, who keeps pressing on. But what in the ‘Tekken’, ‘Final Fantasy’ mess was this?
Not the biggest endorsers of the song, it’s instances such as this where a video should carry the so-so song. Yet, this functions as the opposite.
It’s one thing going the independent route, yet surely that would make all involved conscious of the constrained budget they’re working with. Why, then, reach beyond the means when it’s common knowledge CGI (even with a decent budget) is more “miss” than “hit”?
Ironically, it’s the scenes “in the real world” that do the clip most justice – even though Ashanti herself isn’t doing herself anything of the sort with this video overall.
Between the song, its video, and its charting, it’s clear as Rihanna‘s lack of talent that this should be dashed in the “buzz single bin” and another release cued pronto.

Love that she’s trying something new! She looks amazing, the video is great. Marcus Patrick and Jasmine Sanders both look great. The fashion is awesome, the editing is awesome. She did a great job, and I can’t wait to see what else she has in store.

So I saw the video….Ashanti looked great….never really liked the song tho, but its growing on me.
But the video lost me….I mean get the overall concept, but like the end lost me….some of the beginning lost me….and I was kinda lost in the middle.

There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with this video! While I can’t really find the correlation between the sci-fi (Final Fantasy) and the realistic scenes, it was still beautiful and the song was def on point. It’s been forever that I’ve enjoyed an R&B song asides the very few that recently released and this is def joining that bin. This coming from someone who could care all the less for Ashanti’s career.
Also, I don’t see the Tekken part. I’m a huge fan of both those games but I don’t get your joke thing.

The video looks unfinished and poorly edited. I can’t help but compare this to Katy Perry’s E.T. or Teyanna Taylor’s “Google Me.” When you do a green screen or white screen video, the viewer is supposed to forget that you’re standing in front of the green screen. Of course since Ashanti is going the indy route, she doesn’t have a Katy Perry budget, but Teyanna Taylor didn’t have a Katy Perry video budget, and Google Me didn’t look like this amateur type mess that Ashanti just served.

During their chat session, he showed the RnB singer a music video he was working on via iPod in hopes of making what he calls “connections” within the industry.
Shockingly a month has passed and Ashanti’s latest visual art piece looks strikingly similar.

But in this era, how can someone STILL mess up with video settings. Take it from TLC’s “Scubs” or Michael ‘s “Scream”: If you’re on some Stargate Atlantis set, you stay on that Stargate Atlantis set for the whole video. The glimpses of her normal life with the guy, the pregnancy test and all that jazz were absolutely NOT needed.
The song is still dope and her new image is VERY hot so hopefully, she’ll get the Kelly Rowland Award for Comeback of The Year. Thumbs Up!

I was able to watch it anyways and Ashanti looked great and her attempt to create a buzz and get back in the game is commendable. I hope she keeps up with the momentum.
Although TGJ, for someone who consistently talks about Rihanna, I find it hard to believe that you feel Rihanna is talentless. Not all singers are going to sound like Whitney and hit notes like Mariah but thats why we have a VARIETY of artists; we SHOULD acknowledge what they bring something different to the table. It could be their dancing, vocal skills, artistic approach, or all of the above. Just saying..

This has been done before. An edgy song about relationships with a futuristic video to match. Humm…sounds like 2001’s We Need A Resolution which brings be to my ultimate pet peeve with Ashanti…she bites Aaliyah’s style and image since her debut and she’s doing it here…right down to the floating on her back scene.
This video is *AMAZING* I love the whole concept totally different for her.. a lot of u is stuck in the past like wth she had 1 un successful album get over it.. Plenty of artist had an UN successful album.. Usher,Rihanna,JLo etc.. but y’all not calling them flops are u?? Im happy she doing her regardless of all u negative ppls that actually sits down to watch every little moves and mistakes she does.. unlike most of these gimmick artist that’s on top Ashanti stayed true to her self she didn’t change her whole looks and music cough cough *Rihanna* to fit in.. a lot of people can relate to her songs unlike most of these other f*ckery artist that’s out smh!!! The video is badly directed on all areas. The treatment is quite poor to be frank. No creativity or originality here whatsoever. So bad there was a lyric in the song that ended with time and she actually looked at her time. Badly directed and really terrible performances! Next!
