Almost a year since her last appearance, Hip-Hop mistress Lil Kim returned to MTV’s Rapfix.
In the candid conversation with host Sway Calloway, the former chart-topper dished on her forthcoming new album (the follow-up to last year’s chart blockbuster ‘Black Friday)’. Also discussed were her strained relationship with Diddy, as well as the mounting suggestion that she’s signed with the Titanic (aka 50 Cent‘s G-Unit).

I can only hope this is the calm before the storm, because we’re seeing a whole lot of Kimberly these days – and we’re not sure exactly why. And not that we’re complaining either. We’re just ready for her to stop the games and capitalise on the door Nicki Minaj’s success as re-opened for her. And yes, you read right. A force pre-dating Minaj, the dimming of Kim’s star is as documented as her visits to the surgeon. Hence, the revival of the “femcee” in the mainstream (see: Azealia Banks, Iggy Azalia) is one the Kim’s, Trina’s, and Foxy‘s could well benefit from. We can only hope they do soon.
As it’d be all sorts of unfortunate if the new generation of music listeners (who aren’t familiar with ‘Hardcore’, ‘Notorious K.I.M’, and ‘Naked Truth’) only remember Kimmy for the perpetual punchline that is ‘Black Friday’.
