Finally!! Monica gave the performance of her life! She owned this one and there’s no denying that. Monica has never had to lipsync and don’t need to she’s an amazing vocalist. Is the only compliment people can give to Brandy is for her tone (Isn’t that getting old). She has great tone but Brandy has also improved. Her voice is alot stronger than what it once was. She’s not as vocally strong as Monica but she can definitely hold her own now. Great job both ladies. Extremely proud of Monica though. She owned this one!

See, the reason why it’s such a big deal is because with each new live version Brandy brillantly adds something refreshing to the song and her vocals caress each note. She changes the arrangement and it just sounds so rich that its mesmerising. She’s one of the best in the game when it comes to riffs and styling. You don’t know what she’ll do and its unpredictable.
Monica did well too, but I prefer when she sings out (belts) and not riff or not appear to be whinning. When she does it pulls her part of the song down. Still, she always have her shinning moments. Hands down this is Brandy’s best for me , its not my favorite Monica showing…just so that the Mo stans don’t think it’s any hate, I’ll point out that Mo’s best vocals were on Leno. Both women are always great to watch live. Now, I just wish that some people would stop bringing up Bey. The fact that she comes up in a post about every great vocalist and every great dancer, tells you something. Beyonce is phenomenal, stop with that hate already!

WOAH…Brandy’s styling is totally giving me Aaliyah from the “More Than A Woman” video…HOT! Naturally this performance would focus more on monica, her album is out today. But they both did good. I think this performance have have been pre-recorded tho.

As for the lip syncing… I thought Monica was lip syncing too, cuz she sounded sooo good… but i doubt it… It is very hard to lip sync while the other person is singing live and plus there was a live band in a small studio. it was all live… Just cuz she wasnt opening her mouth wide doesnt mean she wasnt singing… Reall singers know how to use their voice so they dont have to open there mouth all wide… its supposed to look like ur talking… the bottom live is it was all live…. When are they gonna be on the View and Wendy Williams?
I just looked at the 4.50 mark and youre probably right…. Monica was lip synching I couldnt really tell if it was her lip synching or iff the video was out of sync with her movements cuz the video does seem to slow down a bit….. If she did lip sync, i cant be mad at her… She knows her album drops today and she dont want no f*** ups in the performance. shrugs shoulders -_-

OAN: beyonce has great pitch, nice range, and great control….but her technique could never touch brandy’s ……she doesnt have as intricate of an ear or hear half the notes brandy hears to create her riffs/runs….

Liked it… Too Bad… The album is going to do poorly… Her budget should have been better this time around… Her songs should have been better too… It’s like ppl were losing their damn creativity… They needed as song like “Loving A Woman”… Something more mature… To show their growth together as women and artists… I blame Rico Love for the b*******… No where epic as “Boy is Mine”… Only thing that is epic about it is that these two artists are on it… I’m surprised Brandy went for this… Very surprised… Not so much with Monica, tho… But Brandy, very much so…
Thats was a fresh approach to the song.
Done the same but with many different vocal elements.
You can see them working together and improvising when it was needed.

I think they both did a GREAT job. Nobody outdid no one, so yall can stop comparing them. It’s getting old. They’re both great vocalist with different style of singing.. Monica has strong voice, but Brandy has control, vocal skill, higher range than Monica. That’s what she has over Monica. Overall, they both killed the performance!! No Doubt!!

Monica lipped this performance guys! This performance was pre-recorded. It’s okay to tell the truth, let’s not be delusional! Monica CAN sing no doubt, but her pitch was too perfect here! And her facial expressions were a bit much! She usually doesn’t get through an entire performance without having a pitch issue here or there. At 4:52, her vocals come in but her mic is not even near her mouth!
It’s okay guys, Monica’s lipping doesn’t take away from her talent, it’s still her vocals. She played it smart by having a perfect performance to promote her album.
