At this rate Kelly Clarkson will have recorded a full album of Mariah Carey covers by 2020–not that we’re complaining.
The 29 year old Pop/Rock star expressed her admiration of Carey’s artistry before performing a stunning version of ‘Can’t Let Go’ at the Toyota Town Center in Wenatchee, Washington. ‘Can’t Let Go’ was a No. 2 Billboard hit written by Clarkson’s favorite diva in 1991 for the ‘Emotions’ album.

Amazing cover! Kelly made it her own but still managed to put her own spin on it. Her vocals were amazing as always. You should really post more about Kelly Clarkson and less about people who can’t sing half as well as her!! Serisouly start posting more on KELLY CLARKSON! I love her take on the song, its a classic. I play it on the ipod frequently. Kelly sounds a lot like Mariah on her song “The trouble with love is”. Go Kelly! I love her.
Kelly is one of the greatest vocalists of her generation. Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson and Leona aren’t as vocally good as Kelly

She did her own spin on the song, and didn’t try to emulate Mariah’s vocal stylings in any way.:-)
I think CLG would be better suited for Leona, because just like Mariah, Lewis has those soft, breathy and whispery vocals. Kelly kinda turned her version of the song into a power ballad.
This is a lot better than seeing Ashanti butcher Whitney’s clasics.
@Nichole: you’re right. Leona’s voice isn’t as powerful as Kelly’s. Leona is on the softer side. As for Ashanti, she does have a nice voice, but isn’t a powerhouse vocalist
