Rita Ora Performs ‘Roc The Life’ For VEVO

Published: Tuesday 10th Apr 2012 by Sam

Continuing her rapid ascend, rising star Rita Ora justified her buzz on VEVO Lift this week.

The Roc Nation star, who has partnered with the online juggernaut, served up a soaring performance of a track called ‘Roc The Life’ – which is set to feature on her hotly anticipated debut.

She may favour a certain Roc-mate on the looks front, yet it’s becoming increasingly clear that her ability to actually sing (and well, at that) already places her several rungs above that particular competition.

Watch Ora in action below…

Great performance!

OMG that is what I like about Rita, she actually knows about music to actually change her melodies. Oh my and is not like that pop star that sings the same melody every show, every concert. Rita I will support you and hope you grow musically and get your voice stronger. She doesn’t need a producer to tell her how to sing and guess what this will lead to Rita getting lots of writing and producing credits. I will not be surpriseD if she gEts credit off her first album. THIS IS WHAT I SUPPORT.

Love her vocals, you can tell that she has a true passion for not just her music, but music in general, which is nice to see. People need to stop comparing her to Fenty; she is not any worse or better than Riri, the two are in completely different lanes.
Rihanna was groomed to be a multi- million dollar product, where as Rita is being groomed to be a respected artist.

Rihanna is far from being a great vocalist, but she is by no means the worst vocalist that ever touched a mic. Sam likes to exaggerate the “mediocrity” of Rihanna’s vocals. There are worse singers in the industry. Besides, even the likes of GaGa aren’t known for their vocal skills. As for Ora, she can sing better than Rihanna, but it’s not as if the difference is much. Thatgrapejuice are too biased and can exaggerate stuff.

Like i’ve been saying from the beginning, Rita’s ability to actually sing will separate her and stop the comparison. Let the girl be great and Rihanna fans stop being so petty and insecure. Just like how RIhanna got the Beyonce comparison earlier on, Rita is getting them too. Eventually she will find her niche and separate herself.

I personally feel the world can be hers, she has the voice to do multiple genres (pop, soul, and r and b), she has the look, style, and personality. The label just need to nurture her and make her ascend organic, which it has been with HOT RIGHT NOW popping off.

@Flawda 1000% agree. I believe she has been steadily seperating herself from the comparisons with each new singing video. First with The Crush version of RIP, and now with this Stripped version of Roc the Life and RIP. She is gonna be a huge, huge star, and people need to appauld that someone is being recognized for having immense talent and hard work. And to the Rihanna stans, Rita’s accent doesnt mean Rihanna’s demise. Believe it or not, the Taylor Swifts, Adeles, and Lady Gagas survive and flourish; so calm down. Support your Queen, and let this princess grow.
