LOL! Rita can sing her ass off. They said this song was originally for Rihanna…can you image how terrible it would have sounded if her frog-singing ass had put her croak on it? I think all the songwriters and producers who’ve been giving Rihanna songs should start clamoring for Rita to record them instead, because she has a voice that will not only compliment them much more but also make them come alive.

A decent enough performance, even if it did sound autotuned to me, shame the song is pretty meh. Not bad and not good, just underwhelming and she doesn’t have Rihanna’s swagger. There is nothing wrong with Rihanna’s recording voice, I think the problem is when she tries to sing live notes that are out of her comfort range (too high or too low), she is a reasonable live singer for mid-range notes. Why TGJ keep comparing the two I have no idea, I wish Rita luck but she is just starting out whereas Rihanna has several very successful years under her belt and isn’t going anywhere yet. She also is better looking, a far better dancer and has more attitude, which in my book balances out Rita being a better live singer. TGJ seem to think Rihanna fans are unaware of her variable live singing, we aren’t stupid and appreciate her for what she is – a good recording artist who gets some really banging tunes to sing, all of her singles are better than RIP (I won’t comment on her album tracks, filler much?) so, assuming Rita is competing with Rihanna (which I very much doubt, there are plenty of pop tarts around in the charts), she has a LONG way to go yet to equal Rihanna’s success. I’m only a casual Rihanna fan but I’m sick of TGJ shading her, its getting REALLY old now.
