It’s finally here!

Guesting her brother Ray J, Rodney Jerkins, and more, B-Rocka leaves no stone unturned and speaks on everything from the fateful crash to her ‘spiritual union’ and the loss of Whitney Houston.

I’m not the biggest Brandy fan, but I really believe Brandy has been redeemed as of late, as long as she dont come for Kelly Rowland’s throat on that role as Whitney Houston biopic. LOL, just kidding, but i can see how being americas sweetheart was hard to live up to, honestly, i can see how it was hard for britneys spears too, who was also called that, so I wish we wouldnt peg that on anyone, except for Beyonce, who to me has really done everything correct as far as image is concerned, rightfully so!

  4. KNUCK April 26, 2012

  5. Bran Star April 26, 2012

This was a great episode! I was VERY emotional for Brandy but overall I’m just so happy for her. I’m so glad that we were able to get Brandy’s side of the story and that she can finally put these things behind her. Behind the Music was a perfect platform for this.

I just LOVE Brandy ever so much. She’s been through so many struggles in her life, both personal and professional. Her will, drive, and determination to keep pushing through is truly an inspiring testament of true Human strength. I will ALWAYS be down for Brandy, forever always. And nothing will EVER change that. I’m so excited for the new single and album.

You Brandy stans need to have all the seats ASAP. She had 7 hits and hasn’t had one since 2002. She’s not an icon, she’s not a legend. Quit trying to act like people are checking for Brandy. Her and Ashanti need to get together and go on tour or something. I’m so over you cocky Brandy stans GTFO

  10. Miguel April 26, 2012

Thanks for posting sir! Everybody be sure to support Brandy’s next single Put It Down and Brandy’s next album Two Eleven! We love you tremendously Brandy! This “Behind The Music” was so intimate! I am so proud of Brandy for her veracity and humility! Go BRANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Miguel April 26, 2012

Brandy is the epitome of a vocal beast, the epitome of a LEGEND, and the epitome of a veracious, humble, positive, stunning human being!

  12. Dev April 26, 2012

The problem is that the fools think that an icon is due to the amount of record sales and column inches you fill. An icon is the impact you make, be it with one hit, many or the fact that you change an environment. Look at the beginning of the programme and see how much she achieved…. and this is all without the internet, twitter, and gimmicks. She achieved and made more of an impact than most.
The programme was good. I liked the honesty… Wendy Williams face and voice spoiled it. It’s funny that when she talks about her team, wasn’t her team her mum? Her boyfriend looks like a fatter Lloyd

  13. Bran Star April 26, 2012

@Jer Wow… tell us how you really feel…It must suck to be so bitter, and for what reason? How does that hateration benefit people like you? I just don’t understand… IMO, an icon isn’t defined solely by their success or by hit records. What is a hit anyways? True music icons in my opinion have the respect of their peers. Their talent is recognized by those who’ve come before them, and they have influence with artists that have come after them. To me, Brandy has all of those things. If she keeps at it, I believe she can potentially become a future legend in music.

No one’s checking for Brandy you say? Really? But yet you found your way here commenting on a Brandy post of all places. So clearly she’s relevant enough for you to make that post. During her Behind The Music episode, Brandy topics were trending on Twitter both domestically and internationally. In fact, 4 out of her 5 studio albums re-entered the itunes Top 100 R&B/Soul Chart after her Behind The Music episode aired. So clearly people are still thinking about her, people still remember her, people are still rooting for her to WIN.

Deny all you want, you can’t keep avoiding the truth.

  14. Minhquan Nguyen April 26, 2012

Hm… Well, I love Brandy as a vocal artist. I think she has one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary music, and her intonation, musical inventiveness, and emotional depth is of high standard.

But I find it troubling that on occasion she diminishes the value of her own work if it doesn’t sell well. In the video, she and several other people seemed to put down Afrodisiac, even though by production, vocal, and content standards, it’s probably one of Brandy’s best albums and one of the great R&B albums of the last decade. I also distinctly recall her brushing aside Human when it sold poorly, even though that album, too, I found emotionally rich and really well sung.

I also find it strange–and this applies to nearly all celebrities, not just Brandy–how willing she is to put the most private details of her personal life out there for public view. Obviously her having a new boyfriend is a good thing, but to declare that she’ll give up on love if things don’t work out with him–if he doesn’t “act right”–just seems to be placing huge pressure on their relationship and her.

I will always really admire Brandy as a musical artist, but in terms of her personality, I don’t know how much faith I have in how she views herself.

  15. SIANA April 26, 2012

@minhguan co sign. musically yes but her personally, blank stare. I really like her music and i may buy her album but Brandy, Brandy, I don’t know. Anyway glad that she had clarity and parents will have to stop treating their children like they are plastics with no feelings. Being in a christian home does mean that you have a perfect upbringing.

  16. GLYNNJE April 26, 2012

    amazing!!!!

  17. Troybenz April 26, 2012

it was great and i wish brandy the best in the future but the video wasnt so good

  18. 2/11 Songscribe April 26, 2012

    I Loove Braandy!!!!
Issues i think affect Brandy the most
She has Low Self confidence. This means that, she succumbs to pressure she recieves from the society, media and public in general. I will take for example the Human era. That album was one of the best albums to be released in 2008. it was just a solid CD, that touched different facets of love. Upon it not selling well, she started to criticise the album and Rodney, which i think it was all due to pressure. But honestly that album was good, people are still jamming Piano man, Right here(Love the Video), True, Long Distance, Comoflage, Human, Fall. Brandy has given us quality music from the first day she got hold of a mic. Human failed because of POOR PROMOTION and SINGLE CHOICES, not because of poor quality of music. The production was from out of this world e.g piano man. even the Critics gave her 69-72
Love you bran its only that i know how lack of confidence affects an individual and it pains me that it is you and you are in this cruel industry

  19. lol April 26, 2012

brandy is the best vocalist of all time after whitney and mariah carey ..beyonce and rihanna will never have the SOUL OR ICON STATUS NOT EVEN MONICA EVEN THOUGH MONICA CAN SANG ! BRANDY DOES THINGS WITH HER VOICE THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR PEOPLE LIKE RIHANNA MONICA AND BEYONCE .BRANDY WILL ALWAYS BE THE FIRST KID OF THE 90’S WITH REAL SOULFUL PIPES ..SHE PAVED THE WAY FOR ARTIST LIKE RIHANNA AND BEYONCE WHO ARE OVERRATED THIS GENERATION . ALL THESE NEW SINGERS ARE OVERRATED IN VOCALS TO NAME A FEW BEYONCE HAS NO SOUL RIHANNA HAS NO SOUL KELLY ROWLAND SUCKS LIVE CASSIE SOUNDS LIKE AMBER ROSE .. LOL THESE NEW SINGERS ARE S***** BUT WHEN IT COMES TO THE NEW R&B DIVAS AFTER WHITNEY AND MARIAH SHANICE AND TAMIA ITS MONICA BRANDY JAZMINE SULLIVAN KERI HILSON LAURYN HILL MARY J BLIGE ASHANTI FANTAISA AND JHUD END OF STORY ! RIHANNA AND BEYONCE ARE THE ONLY SELLOUTS IN THE INDUSTRY.

  20. lol April 26, 2012

KELLY ROWLAND IS A STUDIA SINGER I WOULD RATHER LISTEN TO KEYSHIA COLE BEFORE I BUY A KELLY ROWLAND ALBUM .. KELLY ROWLAND CANNOT SING LIVE SHE ALWAYS SOUNDS NERVOUS AND SHE OVER SINGS SHE TRIES TOO DAMN HARD I SEE WHY THAT LAST ALBUM DIDNT SELL. BRANDY IS NEVER A FLOP SHE HAS THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL SHE COULD HAVE BEEN WHITNEYS DAUGHTER. JUST LIKE USHER OMARION AND NEYO COULD BE MJ’S KIDS

  21. lol April 26, 2012

I AM SICK OF THESE NEW ARTIST THAT CANNOT SING SO HAPPY PEOPLE OF THE 90’S R&B ARE COMING BACK LATOCHA SCOTT OF XSCAPE RETURNED WITH THE SINGLE BAD TIMING AND SHE CAN SING HER ASS OFF ! THE 90’S MUSIC IS THE BEST AND THOSE SINGERS ARE LEGENDS NOW . BRANDY CAN SING BETTER THAN BOTH BEYONCE AND RIHANNA BUT WITH ALL THESE HATERS OUT HERE HER CAREER WENT DOWNHILL BECAUSE SHES NOT SELLING S** LIKE THE OTHERS. RIHANNA IS A POP SINGER NOT R&B .BEYONCE CROSSED OVER TO POP AND FAILED SHE STILL CANNOT OUT SING BRANDY EVEN THOUGH SHE GOT MORE GRAMMYS. BRANDY IS THE ONE WHO DESERVES 16 GRAMMYS BECAUSE SHE ‘S NOT A COPYCAT AND SHE SINGS HER HEART OUT WITH SOUL.

@JER EVen iF YOu DONT WANT to count BRandy’s other hits.. THE BOY IS MINE ALONE WILL MAKE BRANDY A LEGEND>> ITS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL FEMALE DUET OF ALL TIME>>> THE MOST SUCCSSFUL SINGLE BY A TEENAGE ARTISTS OF ALL TIME>> THE MOST SUCCESSFUL TEENAGE DUO OF ALL TIME<<>>>>>ON TOP OF THAT BRANDY HAS INSPIRED MANY ARTITS SUCH AS KANYE WEST, CHRIS BROWN, TANK, SHE AND MARY J BLIGE ARE KEYSHIA COLE’S MAIN INSPIRATION ..JOHN LEGEND, TYRESE, CIARA, JAZMINE SULLIVAN AND KELLY ROWLAND.. ON TOP OF THAT SHE INSPIRED RIHANNA’S BEST SELLING ALBUM GOOD GIRL GONE BAD ”. SHE INSPIRED THE RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS AND WAS THE MAIN INSPIRATION OF THEIR GRAMMY WINNING ALBUM AND ALBUM OF THE YEAR NOMINATED ALBUM NAMED STADIUM ARCADE… BRANDY IS A SINGER’S SINGER POINT BLANK PERIOD.. SO SHE IS DEFINATELY A LEGEND ALONG WITH MONICA WHOM WAS THE LAST FEMALE TO HAVE THREE CONSECUTIVE NUMBER ONE SINGLES FOR OVER TEN YEARS KATY PERRY HAD TO PASS HER IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THAT AND SHE HAD THE HELP OF DIGITAL SINGLES WHICH MONICA DID NOT HAVE IN THEIR DAY… THEREFORE BRANDY IS A LEGEND POINT BLANK PERIOD..

  25. STill Standing April 26, 2012

@JER OH AND THE BOY IS MINE IS ALSO THE MOST SUCCESFUL DUET BY A RNB OR POP ARTISTS….

  26. STill Standing April 26, 2012

@JER AND THEY DIDNT EVEN HAVE THE HELP OF DIGITAL SINGLES.. SO THAT IS A LEGENDARY ACCOMPLISHHMENT!!!!!

  27. STill Standing April 26, 2012

@JER AND IT IS IN SECOND PLACE FOR THE MOST WEEKS AT NUMBER ONE FOR A DUO BEHIND Los del Río — “Macarena” (Bayside Boys mix) BY ONE WEEK WHICH WAS A LATIN DANCE SONG!!!

  28. STill Standing April 26, 2012

@JER BRANDY LEFT AN IMPACT ON OTHER ARTISTS AND PAVED THE WAY FOR OTHER ARTISTS WHO CAME AFTER HER AND THAT IS THE DEFINITION OF A LEGEND.. HER AND MONICA ARE SINGER’S SINGERS.

  29. shioniedoo April 26, 2012

…i rather her be under confident in herself and her music than overly confident of crap music. That’s what makes legends great. You should never be completely satisfy with your work. Should always strive for better. Granted there is a thin line between greatness and insanity, but sometimes u have to b hard on yourself to make yourself greater. Love the behind the music, very real and insightful

  30. STill Standing April 26, 2012

@ JER THE BOY IS MINE IS THIRD PLACE EVER FOR MOST WEEKS AT NUMBER ONE …….. AND THEY DID NOT HAVE THE HELP OF DIGITAL SINGLESS === LEGENDARY ACCOMPLISHMENT!!! HAHAHAHA

  31. STill Standing April 26, 2012

@JER BRANDY AND MONICA MAY NOT GET THE RECOGNITION THEY DESERVE BUT THEIR TALENT AND WHAT THEY HAVE DONE IS UNDENIABLE AND CANNOT BE TAKEN FROM THEM…

  32. Princess Pocketbook April 26, 2012

I knew it I knew because I went through it. I knew Brandy and Wanye got down. Just like I knew R. Kelly and Aaliyah did. Damn I’m bad. Really good Behind the Music. I have a knew respect for Brandy. I like her realness and her new attitude. I want her back in movies and on tv.

  33. RoyalKev April 26, 2012

@ Still standing – Thank you for your stats, now I don’t have to leave an essay (even though I could add on to what was mentioned for days). She’s broken so many barriers and accomplished more than what some people can only dream of. The multi -platinum albums, record-breaking TV specials, the dolls, movies, advertisements(Cover girl, etc). Let’s not…

Bradny’s Behind The Music episode was very touching, honest and displayed an act of bravey on Brandy’s part. It’s not easy for someone so sensitive to put themselves in such a vulnerable position and divulge all of their skeletons for all the world to witness/ judge. Brandy is human and she makes mistakes, but she owns up to them. She has a very big heart. I don’t know her personally, but I can tell that she has good intentions.

Brandy is insecure, but that’s apart of her charm. It brings out the best in her. I hope when its all said and done she’s proud of every moment in her career. She’s never dropped the ball music wise. Brandy’s a beast, end of…

…& for the record people, Beyonce has plenty of soul. Stop using this as an opportunity to put her down. Beyonce is just as accomplished as Brandy. You can’t give props to Ashanti, Kelly Rowland, Keri Hilson, etc and reduce Bey down to nothing. #MakesNosense … Anyway, I’m proud of both ladies (B’roka & Bey). They’re phenomenal women.

Am I alone in feeling like there was no complete clarification on the accident? and I really wanted to know about that note that Whitney passed to Bran the morning of her death.

I LOVE HER, I really do an I’m quietly excited about her new work, but her new inner voice? this “fearless & bold” image is giving me Dawn Richard. In fact their similarities are quite frightening, she should really think about working with Dawn and Drew on a creative level.

  35. The Real B(randy) April 26, 2012

4…count them 4 of Brandy’s most recent albums including deluxe versions entered itunes R/B charts last night and today so for all the nay sayers above and “Brandy’s not a legend”……..I say to you……hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha #PUTITDOWN

No shade and she’s still alive!

  36. SAYINSOMETHIN-NICE April 26, 2012

Wow Just Watched The Show.. Hearing her Music is one thing but when u connect to the pains and her struggles, and u get an explanation about it.. The Lyrics to her Songs Have a Deeper Meaning.. WOW..

  37. Ulises April 26, 2012

I LOVED IT!!! I HONESTLY can’t wait to hear the new album! I really think this is gonna be a big year for her. I’ve always supported her. Her vocals are always on point and are insane!! Can’t wait!! And… I’m glad that she didn’t bash the “Human” album and blame the producer for it not being as “successful” as she expected it to be. It was an AMAZING album. She’s definitely exuding great amounts of confidence and it’s great to see that she’s survived every challenge life has thrown at her. Awesome documentary. =)

  38. JUSTbeinHONEST April 26, 2012

I like brandy honestly her music she has a lovely voice and i loved growing up yo Moesha …. on the rest of her life im happy that at least she was able to own up to her mistakes and know they were but i felt soo bad for he when she had to relive that fatal car accident in 2006 thats just not something anyone wants to go through and the worst part was they only targeted her cause she was famous … but i love this ep it really makes you look back on yourself and think i wanna live for me or for others …..

  39. JohnnyBlaze82 April 26, 2012

Why is she just now trying to act like she real!!! SMH! Maybe cause she desperate and hasn’t had a hit song or even a hit album since the 90’s–SMH! I will give it to her that she has a tremendous voice that I love to listen to but she still fake as a Kardashian!!!

  40. JER April 26, 2012

You Brandy stans can sit your 1998 asses down several times. It’s not about the stats huh yet yal pulled them all out to try and defend her. SOME people are tired of Brandy and her endless drama and pity parties. Lyin ass ho has played with the public time and again. She’s yesterday’s yesteryear’s news. Tired of you internet GORLS throwing out “legend” and “icon” and s*** on everybody name. You BROKE ASS Brandy stans need to get a clue and stop living in the past. Call up Toni Braxton and have her and Brandy do a tour or something because it’s getting real sad. NOBODY is checking for Brandy so go see a godamn movie and have all the seats.

  41. Dunk April 26, 2012

    Excellent

  42. Sunn April 27, 2012

I’ve been a Brandy fan since the beginning and I will def be buying her album when it comes out. People should be trying to uplift our artist that have actual talent, not throw shade, or compare them to others.
